Rebuild Post Dynasty
« on: July 16, 2022, 07:27:34 PM »
2022 is done, hate to say it. But you can't come back from our fortnight.

We simply don't have the list that can sustain a full season of quality football. Which is what is needed for a top 4 finish and finals push. We are good enough for a stellar odd performance but it's too much to ask week in week out. Absolutely sucks to say that. When you lose danger games it shows your list just isn't good enough. Anyone can beat anyone on their day.

Time to make some hard calls on some older guys. Time to never play some constantly failed experiments. Play Gibcus back. Play Balta back. Play Sonsie all year. Play RCD.

Gutted but it's time to look beyond this era.

I'd also be clearing out the entire assistant coaches. 1, it worked last time and 2, they arent good enough.

Dimma needs a slap around, he's coaching like it is 2016.

Sticking with Aarts, Edwards, Castagna (till recently).

He needs good support, we saw that in 2017, can't we do better than McQualter and Kingsley? Is he on such huge money that we can't afford better?
And you may not think I care for you

How about clear the coach out for getting with some girl and stuffing up the clubs culture?

If hawks can do it to clarko then we can.

It’s time we think about who our next coach is going to be.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Agree with this. And not just replace 1 for 1 but reinvest in the footy department. It's a skeleton crew right now. I think Dimma might have run out of ideas again and could do with the heat being put back on him.

Fitness and conditioning also needs to be looked at. I know we are old but we don't seem to run out games well at all.

I think drafting and trading is still okay as a department. It's hard after 5 years of compromised drafts and 5 years at the top to keep the list fresh and talented.

Could be time to look at the coach.

This.

It undermined everything we'd been building.

Dimma should seriously consider his legacy. He can walk aeay now with a decent payout and be a Richmond immortal or he can risk it by staying on and missing finals year after year and ruin his legacy. His time has arrived.

Wowee. Are we allowed to say this now?

My personal feeling it did a lot of damage behind the scenes. Great culture takes a while to build but doesn’t take much to unravel.

It’s harder to talk about integrity when everything you’ve done smacks of hypocrisy.

Only my own speculation, but I think Cotch would still be captain had it not happened. I think he would have been captain till the day he retired.

I think the club should be looking for it's next coach.  He can't fix the discipline issues and continues to play the proven vfl level players.

If there is any seriousness to Dusty leaving I thi k we should pull the trigger and either bring in some high draft picks or young quality players. I’m not sure how he’d cope during a rebuild.

Tank for a top pick.

Trade out dusty and get both Taranto and hopper. Fogarty too.

Retire Jack, Edwards, Lambert.

I think we have more deeper problems.

We need early picks for mids and forwards.

Another 5 inside 30 should be priority no 1.
