Melbourne look set to permit Brody Grundy’s move to the Swans for a potential second-round draft pick .... The Swans have picks 22 (from Hawthorn) and 30 to do the deal one year after Melbourne parted with pick 27 for the dual All-Australian.

Melbourne also look to welcome Adelaide Crows’ playmaker Shane McAdam. Adelaide wants a mature-age player in return but will face heavy resistance from Melbourne if the Crows zero in on versatile tall Harrison Petty or hard nut midfielder Tom Sparrow. Melbourne could look to let go of James Harmes, 27, or Adam Tomlinson, 30, in a deal for McAdam, 28.

Another premiership Demon set to exit is James Harmes.

Morris has previously spoken about the 27-year-old who remains under contract until the end of 2024.

“I told you two months ago he was on the lookout for a new home and the Demons are open to it given he’s on more than $500,000 next year,” Morris added.

The likes of Richmond and Sydney have been linked to Harmes.

Apparently the club is Port which seems odd as Jordan Sweet has put in a trade request to go there . :huh

Their earliest pick is 37 btw - I'd be asking for Georgiades or Scully instead, Dixon near the end but with Lord as well & even Marshall, they've got enough kpfs to spare us one. :shh

Here's the full write-up in the HeraldSun.

Power circle Ivan Soldo

The ruck merry-go-round could be about to add another name to the mix as clubs circle a premiership Tiger.

Port Adelaide is likely to pursue another ruckman to help support new acquisition Jordon Sweet, with clubs believing they are keen on Richmond’s Ivan Soldo.

Sweet has been offered a three-year deal by the Power, but free agent Scott Lycett could depart and there is uncertainty about backups Brynn Teakle and Sam Hayes.

The Power will already have to find draft picks to secure trades for Sweet, Esava Ratugolea and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher.

But with Sweet having played 11 games across his entire career the Power cannot go into next year with Sweet as their No. 1 ruckman.

Soldo rebuffed the Dogs two years ago to sign a three-year deal to 2024 but would be the clear No. 1 ruck at the Power.

If Esava is worth a first rounder so is Ivan.
Next year's second rounder seems fair.

Like I said we should be asking for one of their young KPFs - they've got at least three, four if you count Marshall and they're targeting two rucks and a tall utility to add to all that. :shh

EDIT: Forgot about Finlayson so they've actually 5/6 kpfs - yep surely they can spare us one of the kids. :shh :shh

I reckon that is spot on. Give me one of their key forwards - probably Georgiades.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Ralph repeated his Soldo rumour on Fox Footy tonight:

----------------------------------------------

But speaking on Fox Footy’s On The Couch on Monday night, Ralph said Sweet mightn’t be the only ruck the Power are eyeing, with contracted Tiger Ivan Soldo in their sights.

“Rival clubs believe they (the Power) are looking for a second ruckman after Jordon Sweet. They believe it’s Ivan Soldo from Richmond, who’s got one more year on his deal,” Ralph told On The Couch.

Soldo in previous years has been linked to the Giants and Bulldogs, but has stayed at Richmond.

But the Power already have to find draft picks to secure trades for Sweet, as well as Geelong’s Esava Ratugolea and Essendon’s Brandon Zerk-Thatcher.
