I'm well aware are you?

The Giants trade Hill and its round-three selection (pick No.40) to Collingwood for its round-three selection (43) and its future second-round selection.

So what pick exactly have the pies given up here? Pick 40 is peanuts then and it' is now. Did you have any issue in what we gave up for hopper, or  is that hardly anything as well?

He wouldn't have cost more than 450k per year. We have blokes like Soldo and Graham on similar figures, yet we sat on our arse and tried to chase  a 4th flag with this group.

We have sat on our arses for three years now and still supporters are living in the past.
It is simple we have stopped evolving we still think we can win another flag with this group. At this rate it will be another 37 years of denial before we win another flag.

Lets look at all the clubs as of now and how long its been since their last flags.

Adelaide - a two town team powerhouse. 1998.
Brisbane - 2003 and still going.
Carlton - 1995 and 28 years long may it last.
Collingwood - premiers ffs.  before this year 2010.
Essendon - 2000 23 years another team we all hope it lasts forever.
Fremantle - came into the comp in 1995 28years and counting.
Geelong - 2022 before that 2011. It took 11 years it did not take long enough.
Hawthorn - 2015 and counting.
Melbourne - 2021 before that 1964.
North - 1999 and counting long may it last.
Port - 2004 another two team power house who have been mostly ordinary for the last 19 seasons. Long may it last.
StKilda - last played in a gf 2010. Have one flag in too long to remember.
2018 - WCE 2018 currently a rabble looks like at least 5 years before they get another one. Very rich powerful club could take less time if they ever get their act back together.
FOOTSCRAY - 2016. 7 SEASONS AND COUNTING.

The point is its a falacy when people talk about premiership time frames. Already we are 3 years past our last flag and we have a very ageing list with not a lot of top end talent coming thru and still we think we can turn it around in a year or two. It is a fantasy.

Premierships don't grow on trees they come from years and years of hard work.

Not sure if you listened to Yze presser his well aware we're in rejuvenation and need change of the guard and knows the team is not in window some at the club we're dreaming was great to hear the truth.

Yep, didn’t mention the year though, just said we were going to be competitive

.

Didn't say top 4 said the aim always is to make finals , but his speech was a reality check what we have been wanting to hear.

agree georgie, but to be fair did we really need him to tell me what some of us already knew?

players are older, top end talent is fading away. You dont need to be a genius to figure out that you need to get top end talent in and quick.

In some ways i feel for him, because he will cop it being the senior coach.

When dimma took over what was our average player age and what is it now? I hope there is a big cull from Yze as well including the likes of graham, pickett, and i would hate to see him go but prestia for me needs to be on the table now mainly due to the stuff up that is the hopper draft. I want to see grimesy finish up, preferably now, but in 12 months might be okay. The quicker we replenish players that can be replaced the better we will be. Grimes, pickett are certainly 2 of those now at their age.

Just trolling both are worth a top ten pick minimum even then I would prefer to keep both players

Would anyone do this trade?

I wonder if we would then be able to bundle our 2nd rounders and get another 1st round pick.

Anyway I'm just not sure about this. Think I'd rather picks 4+5 like WCE. Pick 1 is a lot of pressure on a kid and I feel like any club would do better with 4+5.

Not sure GCS would be interested but I could see Melbourne doing this. WCE too.

No

Have to consider the salaries involved. No club would take their salaries on in full and can't see Richmond paying any of them if they did trade

But IMHO itvis a mute point. Our new coach has made it clear he wants both players

I want them both too for the record.

As for salaries, we could afford to contribute because their replacements would be draftees and we'd save boatloads.

Even if we paid half in theory we'd still be $1mil better off in the TPP for 2024.

Apparently Clayton Oliver is up for grabs if “the price is right” . From memory he’s on $1m a year? I feel like he will go but am curious who is gonna take up that pay cheque

Same list managers on trade radio every year.  Craig Cameron, Cripps will be on soon.  Sydney's also.
Some of them love the limelight

Nah I think it's closer to 700-800. I believe he signed a 7 year extension to his already unfinished contract

Wonder why he's so out of favour?

no chance mate, closer to 1 mil.

this contract was signed 6 months after he won a b&f in a flag year.

SNIP  :banghead :banghead

You should all know the rules by now... don't know why after all the years this forum has been running we still have to remind people every so often

No unsubstantiated rumours on the forum.  :banghead :banghead

And throwing an "allegedly" at the end of a post doesn't hide the fact it is an unsubstantiated rumour and it somehow makes it OK to post
