Mini's presser indicates Jayden Short will miss a further 4-6 weeks with a hamstring.  WTF.
What is with these type of injuries and the length our players miss with seemingly innocuous injuries.

WTF is right .. the following was said by the club only a few days ago ...

Jayden Short, hamstring

"Shorty's jumping out of his skin to get back, as everyone would expect. He's running, things are progressing really well.... We'll see Jayden back pretty soon."

How does that turn into 4-6???????????

Yup sounded like 2-3 based on the injury report. Unless he’s had a setback between Monday and today I’ve got no idea what’s going on.

What the hell is going on with Gibcus, wishy washy reporting, no clear concise reports, poor bugger, I bet he wish he never let the choppers get hold of him

I agree about the reporting. I think that's part of the angst people have

Our injury updates tell us nothing. There's just no transparency.

I have no issue with the kid glove approach with Gibcus. Major surgery, infection which would have caused the muscles to waste a fair bit. Then when getting the OK to increase his loads he knicked it again and it'sbeen a slow build to get his muscles strong enough... nothing unusual I don't think anyway

Why? Because

I remember Richo's last season. Tore his hammy off the bone had the surgery they said he'd be back in 12 or so weeks. Got the ok to play and lasted less than a qtr running around for Coburg. Then ruled out for the remainder of season. Tired to come back but in Dimma's first pre-season realised his hammy wasn't right and wasn't going to be again so he pulled the pin on his career.

Ripped hammies off the bone are serious, extremely serious

So if going super slow bringing Gibcus back means he plays again and plays for the next decade without having hammy issues then I'm all for it

So Gibcus tore the hammy off the bone was the original issue?

One of Gibbo's main weapons was/is his leap. So, they've got to get his hammy fully healed and 100% right.

The Club website said 4-6 weeks last week. So, another 3-5 weeks now based on that.

That’s the afl website who are just guessing based on the short/medium/long term that the club list them at. I see the clubs not downgraded him to short term. I reckon he’ll be back next week.

please dont suggest this was a stuff up Knighter.  I would be embarassed if was suggesting bad management didn't play a part here.

let me see

injures right foot during pre-season
rushed back for round 1
injures same right foot in early rounds
out for season.
further surgery required.
out for season.

Early prognosis
Short is progressing in his recovery from a hamstring injury, moving from "medium" to "short-term". First-year rookie Campbell is a chance to make his return for just his second VFL game this year. Lynch has now been ruled out for the remainder of the year after fracturing his foot in round three, while Robbie Tarrant has retired effective immediately. – Sarah Black
