INS: Graham, Prestia, Bauer

OUTS: Young, Miller, Cotchin (managed), Clarke (sub)

Think Sonsie and Ross get another game. Ditto Soldo

The Soldo straight back with no VFL time and we will manage his minutes was a disaster

Something like this, but it sounded like Graham won't be AFL ready next week. Definitely swap Young for Bauer, maybe Biggie deserves a crack at Miller's role. Cotchin out or sub, he's only good for 2 quarters at best now. Cumberland hanging by a thread.

One thing - people get into M Rioli, but it's so noticeable when he's not playing. Gold Coast just walked it out of D50 without a hint of real or implied pressure, and that's what got their uncontested mark game going. We need a genuine press from behind forward who can make the opposition rush a few kicks and thus we have a chance to turn it over. Just didn't happen yesterday.

Our VFL team has the bye this week. Dimma must not have known the VFL fixture.

So, either we bring Graham straight back into the seniors on Saturday or hold him off for another week to give him a run first in the ressies.

How on earth we could drum this loss up to guys like Sonsie or Soldo is laughable. A 20yo with 10 games and a ruck who has played FA for the whole year and goes straight back to the top level against Witts lmao.

Out:
Clarke - not ready, needs to bulk up
Miller - putrid
Cotchin - retire

In
Prestia
Graham
Dow

Young is lucky to be out there but clearly Tarrant is finished and when Gibcus comes back he'll go in for Young.
apparently if they dont dominate they arent grabbing their chance and need to go back to the two's.Thats what people actually think go figure.

We are supposed to have a huge injury list but its an excuse.

Tarrant -  well there is literally Young, Miller, Nyuon and supposedly Bauer lol. What is happening here. Young comes in is out of his depth but they persevere. Nyuon is now supposedly being developed in the ruck after how many seasons. Miller who is best suited to defence imo is played every where but, and expected to beat the likes of Gawn Grundy and Witts in the ruck.

Lynch - well there is no replacement but there are options. We have two young tall fwds Bradtke who is injured unfortunately and Bauer who is not a genuine KPF size imo who we now see fit to play in defense in the reserves. Im incredulous that no one else has nothing to say about this sad state of affairs. Why are we playing the only available tall fwd we have in defense when we so desperately need to find another tall fwd.

Gibcus - Imo third tall atm  and only in second season.  imo when fit should play instead of Grimes who has been shizen most of the year.
Way its gone we will be forced to play him instead of Young as a kpd.We should be playing Miller there though imo.

Nankervis - well the logical replacement for him is Soldo. Other options mainly as second rucks are one of Ryan and Miller. There is also Colina who has been on the list forever and im asking has he even played a VFL game. It has been pretty clear That when Nankervis is fit its not ideal to play both him and Soldo for some pretty obvious reasons.

This week Prestia was out but rested he has been struggling anyway. He has played most weeks though.Graham was another missing but people hate it being said is nothing more than a foot soldier.

Once injuries happen the reality is the talent pool is not there. What happens is the likes of Baker, McIntosh,Graham,  Short, Ross, Vlastuin Balta Broad the ones who should now be the leaders and leading from the front cannot fill the void.

Hmm for me this week.

Grimes - Miller - Vlastuin
Rioli - Balta - Broad

Banks - Hopper - Pickett
Soldo - Martin - Dow

Bolton - Riewoldt - Taranto
Cumberland - Bauer - Ryan

Prestia - Baker - Sonsie - McIntosh - Short.

Clarke - Young - Cotchin - Ross
Bauer - Banks - Dow - Prestia

Playing Miller where we should be instead of Young.
Playing Bauer as a tall fwd option where we need to develop him.Can always swing him back if they need to.
Banks has been good in the two,s reward him.Just hoping he gets a bit of ball and uses it better than McIntosh.
Dow is the same as Banks. Gotta reward him and Cotchin was awful.
Prestia in for Ross no brainer.

Josh Kennedy could come out of retirement and kick 10 on Miller.  He needs to be traded to Vermont pronto

You wouldn't know no one can remember the last time we played him in defence. Keep on saying it we are destroying careeres by playing them out of position before they even properly establish themselves.Beside he can be no worse than Young atm.

Give him a few games in his best role and if it fails ill jump on board with ya.

Apparently so. Seems to smack a bit of the RC-D situation where his face just does not fit.
Would not hesitate to play Banks on a wing this week and Dow starting onball send the message your prepared to back em in and reward some good vfl form for once rather than regurgitating one  or a few of the favorites.

True but Dimma also said in his presser that he was still 1-3 weeks away  :lol

In the Mix: Round 8

Sarah Black
afl.com.au
3 May 2023

If he successfully gets through training this week, Richmond will be welcoming back Jack Graham from a hamstring injury.

Tyler Sonsie struggled to make an impact against Gold Coast (but wasn't alone in that regard) while Judson Clarke was the starting sub.

Jack Ross performed well upon his recall to the senior side.

Ben Miller was barely sighted with two disposals and three hitouts, but allowed Ivan Soldo (57 per cent game time) to ease his way back after a foot injury.

There still isn't much depth in the VFL, but the side's better performers in the 73-point loss – Rhyan Mansell (three goals), Hugo Ralphsmith (21 disposals, two goals) and Thomson Dow (28 and 11 clearances) – are all AFL-listed.

Star midfielder Dion Prestia should also be right to go after a week off due to being managed.

Legit question regarding rcd if he is legit good does the whole afl not see it or is there a conspiracy and that’s why he’s in sanfl?

Surely Cotch is the starting sub this week or gets managed.
