Great result for the Greeks last night. At least they will go home with some pride unlike some others who probably wont score a point because there national competitions are rooted.

Ramps has a point there and NZ has a point and that's one more than a team that has gold in its jerseys that wishes to stage the World Cup in about 12 years.

Serbia beat Germany 1-0 what an upset. we really do need to beat ghana now. if everything goes right that flogging from germany by 4 goals could still hurt us though in the goal against.

England won't get out of the group stage based on their first games. They were shocking overnight and just ran out of ideas. Algeria actually played the better Soccer.

Found this in the UK's Sun newspaper :ROTFL  :rollin

England will beat Slovenia, no question. Slovenia were a nervous wreck after their lead was halved and they will start this next game knowing that they should already be through to the next round.

Its just a shame that England always seem to cop an easy draw.

Still, 2nd place would most likely see them play Germany or a very in-form Ghana (cannot see us doing much at all)

Based on last night Jake England won't get through. They are disjointed and lack cohesion. They couldn't break down an Algerian side that before last night had coceded a least one goal in every game. Spuds like Heskey will take them nowhere.

Serbia beat Germany 1-0 what an upset. we really do need to beat ghana now. if everything goes right that flogging from germany by 4 goals could still hurt us though in the goal against.

That result doesn't really change things for the Socceroos. Because of our poor goal difference we need to win both our remaining games to get out of the group stage. A win tonight would put all 4 teams on 3 points but we'd still be bottom on the table. A win and then draw against Serbia won't be enough.

SEN saying Kewell will start as our lone striker and Bresciano on the left.
Holman in for Cahill.
Same backline though  :help.

Friendly wager?

Heskey is basically the same player as Altidore who caused Slovenia great problems when the US went more direct. England will watch the second half tape, set up very direct with either Heskey or Crouch and then get their quick wide players and Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard feeding off the scraps

England not getting through is about as likely as Germany not getting through to the next round after winning 4-0 in their first game.
Nice deflection MT now that the Aussies have no hope of getting through. :thumbsup
I'm with Jake England will score 3 against Slovenia in the next match. I'm confident about that. :thumbsup

What a disaster for the Socceroos  :P. One up and then concede a penalty with Kewell being sent off for hand-ball on the line. One-all and down to 10-men. Hard to see us getting the win now. Who would've thought before the WC started that Cahill and Kewell would both get straight red cards  :P

i didnt think kewell moved his arm out any to stop the ball butthat was on a slow-mo reply but if the umpire thought he did then it was always going to be a red card for it.

I don't bet but if Heskey starts again up front then I'll sing God Save the Queen (and post the lyrics) if England gets through. Rooney isn't right and is very frustrated. The likes of Thompson, Lennon, Barry aren't A-grade internationals. They are playing as 11 individuals. There's no cohesion. No wonder the Pommie fans booed them off the pitch. People seriously overrate England because the EPL is the biggest and richest club league. Algeria is the weakest team in their group and England didn't look like scoring against them yet somehow Slovenia who beat Algeria is going to concede 3 goals  ???.

No deflection Tucky btw. The Socceroos would be bottom 2 at this WC. I mean we go one up tonight and then sit back and let Ghana come at us  ::). We didn't do that 4 years ago and good sides go for the kill. Mind you it is BS that the Ghanian didn't get a red card as well for that challenge from behind when Cahill got a red in the first game for a lot less. Both sides should be down to 10 men.
