Liam Fawcett signs for 2026 seasonEmerging tall forward Liam Fawcett has signed a one-year contract extension with Richmond, committing to the Club for the 2026 season.
Selected with pick No. 43 in the 2023 AFL Draft, the promising South Australian talent is now locked in for a third year at Punt Road.
After being sidelined for most of his debut season due to a back injury, Fawcett bounced back strongly with an impressive second pre-season, earning his AFL debut in Round 2 this year against Port Adelaide.
The 197cm forward did some eye-catching things on debut, kicking a long-range goal, registering three inside 50s, and showcasing his athleticism and mobility.
At VFL level, Fawcett has continued to develop, averaging 2.4 marks per game and delivering standout performances—including three-goal hauls in hit outs against both Carlton’s VFL side and the Australia U/18 team.
Richmond General Manager – Football Talent, Blair Hartley, said that Fawcett had benefited from playing more regularly this year.
“Importantly for Liam, he has had some continuity this season, and we have been pleased with the way he has applied himself and continued to develop his game,” he added.
“He had a taste of senior football earlier this year which was great reward for his excellent pre-season, and we are excited about his prospects as he continues to improve within our football program.”
