The slipping over was wrong boots fmd....
The whole team was slipping over all night, shocking, do they make a decision on boots for the team?!

Players make their own choices re what boots they wear

Silly statement

Players are free under their CBA to wear whatever boots they want or have deals with.

Players should be smart enough to wear the right boots for the conditions they are going to play in.

We aren't talking about 5 year olds here.  ::)

"It was one of the worst performances I've seen in terms of lack of effort." - Matthew Lloyd

The panel unpacks Richmond's horror display against the Bulldogs, and the Adem Yze post-match comments that raised eyebrows.

Richmond coach hits back at ‘poor effort’ claims following 91-point thumping

Tigers coach Adem Yze has gone into bat for his players, saying “execution” is the point of contention, not effort or intensity.

Richmond coach Adem Yze has hit back at claims that his side showed poor effort and intensity in the 91-point thrashing from the Western Bulldogs, saying all metrics would say otherwise.

Entering his first year at the helm, Yze has barely been given a fair shot as the club has suffered an injury crisis that has seen up to 15 players sidelined at the one time.

However, the former Demons forward has opted to look at what he can control and says that the efforts of those on the field against the Bulldogs were promising, despite what Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd has said.

"I'm not going to comment on what other people have to say about us, I just know from our intent and effort – the tackle numbers and pressure, in the third quarter, I think we were over 200 for our pressure," Yze said on Thursday.

"There's elements and parts of our game that our boys are trying really hard, it's just our execution. At times last week, when you're talking about effort and running – they were running on top of the ground, and we had two players off the ground with limited rotations, so it just got the better of us in the end.

"Like I said, I couldn't fault our efforts around the contest against a quality (opposition) – we gave some opportunities to younger players to play against some quality midfielders in the second half, and I thought their intent and effort was OK. It is what it is."

Adem, you've actually highlighted the issue

And here it is👇

"I just know from our intent and effort – the tackle numbers and pressure, in the third quarter, I think we were over 200 for our pressure"

The 3rd qtr! What about the rest of the game, you know the other 3 qtrs? Doubt our pressure rating was anywhere near 100 let alone 200  ::)

Tackling technique is something that should've been set during preseason. There's absolutely no excuse to poor execution of a basic defensive technique especially if you're rebuilding. Standard defensive skills are essential and must be a nonnegotiable.

Our standards have really gone down hill. One armed body checks just don't cut the mustard and if the club rate them as an attempted tackle then I rest my case.

We might be rebuilding which is fine but Yze really offers nothing of substance.

Part of the problem for all Clubs around tackling is the new rulings around sling tackles, in particular tackles that pin the arms.

I've been watching a few more games this year and it's clear players are being told to avoid pinning arms and taking blokes to ground because it will be deemed a dangerous tackle and/or a reportable offence if the head hits the ground. Pinning arms doesn't allow the bloke being tackled any chance of mitigating contact with the ground.

Just another stuff up by those in ivory towers at HQ

I agree but the issues with tackling have been there long before Yze joined. There’s a few more i’d be questioning before Yze, they unfortunately don’t front up for the club after every game.
