The AFLW side has its own fitness team

ACL are not the fault of any fitness team no matter how much people want to say otherwise

And as a side note, ACLs in women's sport happen at higher rate than in men's sport. There ate a number of reveiws/studies going on into this

Not being as finely tuned and strong would play a part

I saw a highlight the other day of Prespakis.

Now she has been body shamed big time , which is harsh. But I will ask this.

Is someone more likely to do a knee that is unfit? Or someone ripped in an AFL program?

They often aren't, but repeat ACL's on the same knee often are.

I know I get defensive about the AFLW and when players are body shamed

And I'm using Prespakis as an example here and not potting you Damo but can she not be fit despite her body shape? I'm not disputing that with her body shape too many she doesn't look fit

She is fit, her numbers say that, is she getting unfairly classed as unfit because of her body shape?

It works if you say "fit" with a kiwi accent.... :shh

Didn’t take it as potting me

With what I said , there was no possible way I could be potted as nothing I said was offensive

However, your comments are odd to me saying she is fit ..

So from now on , any AFL player that is commented on for being unfit , we will just claim it’s the body shape .. or is that excuse just for AFLW players ??

You say she’s fit because she’s good and better than most others .. irrelevant .. if Conti was 15kgs heavier, I guarantee she would still be a gun .. an unfit gun, but a gun nonetheless (side note, she would never let that happen being a complete professional)

She’s unfit Prespakis .. simple .. she’s overweight and it isn’t her “body shape” that causes it .. if she dieted and spent more time in the gym (as much as AFL players), don’t tell me her “body shape” wouldn’t change

Different rules for different genders

We need the AFL to bring in a Middle Aged Straight White Guy Round .. the only group that’s missing

I’ll also add .. the bullying she has copped is wrong and if it was my daughter I’d be FUMING

All I’m responding to is your comment that she’s fit because she’s good

She’s good because she clearly has a stack more ability that 90%+ of the others on the ground

As for the body shape comment .. look at her “shape” 5 years ago compared to now

She’s out of shape , and if it was an AFL player there would be no problems pointing it out .. she should be fitter and in better shape .. but that’s her decision and good luck to her

My comments aren’t about her , it means zero to me , it’s about the comments in this thread

Think Dusty say 2011 Damo?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
