If so and a standard strain, I say no biggie
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

No such thing as a standard hamstring at Tigerland.  8 week standard injury

So I'm assuming this is fact? Is it reported yet or being kept under wraps?

Seems like Taj was training today and did well. No injuries luckily.

And to think that some other club wanted to trade with us for HRS a few years ago or whatever. I can't see him fitting into our best 23 unless we have at least half a dozen blokes injured.

Bell’s way-too-early Rising Star prediction

By SEN
3 Feb 2026

Peter Bell has made his way-too-early prediction for the 2026 Rising Star award.

1 - Taj Hotton (Richmond)

“We saw a little bit of him last year and he’s got some tricks.

“He’s going to be great to watch, I love Taj.”

Every AFL team’s ‘one to watch’ for 2026

Zero Hanger
February 7, 2026

Each AFL team has at least one player ready for a breakout year or is looking to prove their value in the top flight, while others returning from a long injury layoff might be a catalyst in the upcoming campaign.

There's always increased excitement or expectation mounted on players who looked to be a big part of the season to come, even if they aren't among the top line of stars in their squad.

Here we look at your club's 'one to watch' heading into the 2026 AFL season.

Richmond - Taj Hotton

In the closing stages of 2025, Richmond fans got a taste of Taj Hotton's skillset; a small glimpse into why the club was so keen to draft him. An athletic livewire who makes things happen, his dynamism added a point of difference to Richmond's front half.

He played just seven games at the top level in his debut season, missing the first half of the year with an ACL injury he sustained before being drafted, but he did not look like he missed a beat when he returned. Speed is the name of the modern game, and Hotton has that in spades.
