X3

Scoring in 2017 was higher than any other year since.

Thats some funny poo. No wonder the game is worse than it has ever been.

While you’re at it get rid of the 6-6-6 rule and whatever the rule is called that allows players to run 30-40m without oppo pressure from goal kicks and whatever other stupid rules they brought in btw 2017-2020.

Insufficient attempt to keep ball in play

No frees for players deliberately drawing high contact

Heck we could just about fix this stuffing game

Stand rule has to be the first to go

Then the ruck nomination rule. If the rule is only 1 player form each team can contest a ruck contest then it's pretty simple. A 2nd player goes up it's a free. Don't need anyone nominating

The AFL the last decade have been so reactionary to incidents and from there made rule changes. Perfect example contact below the knees. One bloke suffers a broken leg and the AFL panics and creates a rule. Then  within weeks players are exploiting the rule to get frees.

It's a shambles

What if a second player goes up from both sides? Who gets the free? Just go back to allowing 3rd man up - like most of these rules that get changed there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.  :shh

Also get rid of the prior opportunity rule and immediately improve the game.
less grey and the umpire can pay the black and white frees without trying to calculate multiple factors when someone gets tackled.
the game worked ok for over 100 years without these stupid rules that ruin the game and create more problems.
The club that keeps giving.
