Mansell with that shoulder but played out the game.
Smith went off with a hip pointer apparently but not sure if it's bad or not.

How much more chances does Dow need? Should be first dropped. :banghead

I actually think Dow has improved this year. The problem we have is the midfield mix is so unbalanced. Dow provided some zip and agility around contests, which actually stands out even more next to Taranto and hopper. If we bring in smillie it’s really only going to get worse. To me the common problem here is Taranto and hopper are too similar and not good enough to be 2 walk up starters at the centre bounce, but we have to play them there because they aren’t very versatile and the club signed them for 7 years. Not to mention we just lack seasoned midfielders.

Ideally a mix of Lalor, Smillie and Hotton is our future midfield. I just wonder when we start investing in them more and play them over Taranto and Hopper. Early days I know, but sooner or later it has to happen. Perfect example is the hawks with omeara and Mitchell. They have to be moved on to allow the young guys to grow

Dow hasn't improved at all - if anything he's getting worse. Rancid footballer.

I actually think Lalor looks tired already since R1.

Trainor too and who can blame him with the constant siege our backline is under.

I'd consider:

OUT
Smith (hip)
Mansell (shoulder/susp/
Lalor (rest)
Trainor (rest)

INS
McAuliffe
Gray
Alger
MRJ sub

Yeah Andyy, here come the changes.  The best we can do is to shuffle the deck chairs though, but it is time to rest some.  Armstrong struggled too, maybe swap him with Fawcett.
Rotate & try a few more, we all knew this was coming.  Chins up boys ...    :cheers

Fawcett isn't an option

As per the VFL matches day thread. Badly broken nose yesterday and concussion

He'll be in protocols

That's right. We knew it would be this sort of year.

The Carlton game wasn't an indication of our competitiveness this year, more of a red herring.

IMO the kids have looked buggered ever since. Lots of gut running and cramps in R1 etc.

The idea of dropping guys like TT and Hops is laughable. They will be carrying a heavy load all year while we rotate the kids.

It is what it is. Rebuild and development year.

Plenty to be excited about.
