How old is aah chee

grab him in the PSD? great player

28/29.

I would if wce don't take him

I can't open the article but I read a link from wa they aren't going to take him.

Show some balls RFC take him.

His agent did an interview after trade period closed (oddly enough while standing next to the Adelaide list boss). He flat out said that there’s not a chance he’ll go back to Brisbane and he will go to Adelaide through the PSD.

Why take a player who flat out doesn’t want to be at the club? Not about showing balls, it’s counterproductive.

Essendon don't see to agree with you

If you don’t see the difference between retaining your captain and best player to the remaining 2 years of his deal vs picking up a decent player who wants to play elsewhere then I don’t know what to tell ya.

I think the bombers are in for a few tough years . They like Carlton have some culture issues that won’t go away without some major coaching changes

Pretty sure it’s 2 years WP. Contracted until the end of the 2027 season.

Stand corrected

Read an article this morning that said he had 4 years remaining. Same article has been corrected and saying 2 years left

Trade period ratings in the media:

IN: Patrick Retschko (Geelong), Pick 38

OUT: Tylar Young (West Coast), Pick 99

DRAFT HAND: 3, 4, 38, 81

SUMMARY: The Tigers were never expected to be a big player given their bumper haul from 2024, and the pick they gained for Young is likely to come in once the Academy and father-son bids swallow up a host of picks belonging to the Suns, Lions and Blues – and they can help do that by launching multiple early bids with their two top-five picks. Retschko is a free hit given Geelong had already let him go.

GRADE: C+

-----------------------------

RICHMOND

Who left: Tylar Young (trade, West Coast Eagles)

Who arrived: Patrick Retschko (trade, Geelong)

Draft picks owned: 3, 4, 38, 81

David King says: “They’ve been unreal over the last four years, they’ve got 12 top 30 picks that have come into the place. It’s like watching the Paris fashion week when they unveil their top-line draftees! We’ve seen quite a few of those guys. I just think that they’ve make a conscious decision as a football club, and they’re sticking to it. I like this, I think this is a strong football club that knows what winning premierships is all about … I’m a fan.”

Jon Ralph says: “Retschko is a rookie who was delisted by Geelong on October 2. He then was, I assume, re-listed. Richmond wanted him, they’ve traded pick 99 for him. A hard-running utility (but) we know stuff-all about him … but we wish Patrick Retschko well in his new career at the Tigers!”

Getting a 28 gear old 2× AFL premiership player isn't counter productive.

In both cases the player flat out doesn’t want to be at the club.

It's common for players to be drafted. Retained etc. against their wishes.

It's a professional league not let's make everyone happy festival.

In this case I am not too fussed because he is too old to fit into the rebuild but where he wants to be doesn't matter as much as the club.

Indeed wce have said they are not interested not because of this desire to be in Adelaide but cause they have enough smalls.

It is 100% counterproductive because he not only doesn’t want to be at Richmond but he doesn’t want to be playing in VIC either. We have a super young impressionable list and unless someone is committed to playing for the club, they should be avoided.

The options aren’t Richmond or going back to Brisbane, he wants to go to Adelaide and assuming clubs don’t reach out to his agent and see whether he would be willing to play for them, I am 99% certain he will be at the crows next year.

Why are you not 100% sure?

Cause you know deep down you are wrong and he might get picked up by a north or saints.

Where he would either whinge or more likely contribute to wins.

I’m not 100% sure because anything is possible but I’m talking about the 99 percentile and your talking about the 1 percentile so I like my odds a hell of a lot better than yours.

End of the day it is not productive for a very young team to bring in a player who clearly does not want to be there. We’re not taking about a world beater either, he is a good player who would easily be best 22 for us, but he isn’t close to the type of player that would move the needle. It ain’t worth it.

In addition , you would prefer the younger blokes who will be around when we are challenging again.
There will be a good / better suited uncontracted  players available for us particularly with WC committing  to Robertson.
On another note,  I would have gone after Jack Steele if it was known that he was being discarded for almost nothing as he has leadership skills.

But he won't be around the next time we are challenging    ::)
