I think the club is kidding themselves if they dont give Chubba another deal.

Sure we shouldnt offer him a heap of money but a one year performance based contract.

He isnt the kind of person to hold out for money, but last saturday was a clear indication of where we stand with our defence and i dont think we are in a position to let someone like Kellaway go.

I am all for letting the kids develop, but if they are not ready they arent ready.

And who knows how quick Thursfield will comeback. It took Gas a while to get over his knee fully and you never know what will happen with Will.

Jays performances have been disappointing, plays 10 minutes a game, kicks 2 goals then disappears for the rest. Who knows whats happening with him ... why does he switch off or he isnt switching of where is he the rest of time?

I would rather us keep Chubba for another year. Until the young defenders gain some experience.

Sarge, shouldn't be let go, he needs to play in the f50 instead of the backline.

Maybe he is checking out the chicks in the crowd  ;) Or maybe like me, he has a short attention span. Who knows, but if Terry sees it as a problem, I'm sure he will bring it up with him during the player interviews.

Well thats a commendable effort from the Sarge, as long as women are involved then I suppose its ok to play bad on a weekend  ;D

Actually I am looking forward to Yeah or Neah for Number 20 because if we get rid of Chubba then in the experience stakes down back we will have Gas and Hall to take on the monsters in the big body stakes :-\

Gaspar gets one-year deal
06 September 2006   Herald-Sun
Mark Stevens

VETERAN Richmond defender Darren Gaspar was offered a new one-year deal today.

But defender Andrew Kellaway is considering his options after a meeting with coach Terry Wallace.

Gaspar, 30, has played 202 for Richmond since joining in 1996 from the Sydney Swans, where he played 21 games

Although Gaspar’s 2006 season was hampered by injuries, which restricted him to just eight senior appearances, the club still beleives he has a role to play.

"Darren’s record speaks for itself and he is very much part of our plans for 2007 and beyond,” Richmond’s director of football, Greg Miller, said today.

“We envisage future contracts with him being done on a year-by-year basis.”

The defenders are part of a final group of 10 players yet to face Wallace for the club's post-season review.

Wallace interviewed 20 players at Punt Rd yesterday, following on from a small group of interviews before Mad Monday celebrations.

The final 10 players to be interviewed are older members of the club's list.

Wallace has acted swiftly in the past, but said delistings might not be made for at least a fortnight.

"We won't be the first cabs off the rank this year," Wallace said.

Much of that is to do with the fact the Tigers are still unsure how much money they will receive as a bonus from the TV rights deal -- and whether there will be extra funding for rookies.

The Tigers entered this season one player short, but Wallace will not make any calls until he knows the list parameters he faces.

"I'm waiting on an answer from our board on what we can and can't do," Wallace said.

Meanwhile, TIgers assistant coach David Wheadon’s contract has expired and will not be renewed.

Razor being contracted until next year probably saved him. Well as far as being delisted.

The clown beedee on BF reckons we are getting "someone from the WEST" to replace Wheadon.

SEN reporting Chubba is unlikely to be offered a new contract but a official announcement won't be made until October 31.
