“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Yahweh? or the great Clawski?

A DEMOCRATIC aide says the White House and congressional Republicans have reached an agreement to avert the so-called fiscal cliff.

It seems it now depends on whether is has the support by the congressional house republicans to pass. Even if this deal does pass it only delays spending cuts for 2 month until the debt ceiling needs to be raised. Last time that had to be raised the Republicans nearly made the government shut down and caused the American credit rating to be cut.

Yes but that was a whole lot closer to an election and their aim was to get rid of Obama. (reminds me of another get power at any cost politician)

Doesn't apply this time so they will cut a deal.

No your wrong it doesn't only apply because Obama was facing re-election it applies because every one of those republicans will face re-election again.  Their main fear is facing a primary challenge that will be backed by large super pacs with lots of money that are anti-tax.

Yep the looney tea party-ists will put pressure on any moderate Republican facing pre-selection. US mid-term elections are in 2014.

The deal is off again  :P.

"I do not support the bill." With those words, the Republicans appear to have committed the United States to recession."
