Kingy is a gem.
Pace, skill, hardness, fearless, mongrel takes no poo poo from anyone regardless. I don't even worry about the goal he gave away last nite. He gives his all each time he gets out there and is a True Tiger.
Love the fact he was promoted from the rookie list much like a few others on our list also and is upstaging players who have come with higher credentialls due to his strong work ethic fierce desire and will to win. Fact that he still wants to wear number 46 shows he likes to be different yet his feet are firmly on the ground, with a heart that runs like a brand new engine.

Exactly TMonk

I have been a Jake King from the very first time he ran around for Coburg.

Plays the old fashioned way... stands up for his mates, gives 2nd, 3rd anf 4th efforts. He makes a mistake he doesn't drop his head he just goes back into battle... I could go on

A rough diamond - a gem who's makes this Tiger fan very proud indeed :thumbsup

One dumb mistake but how good was Kingy tonight :bow

Where did that extra pace come from Kingy in the last quarter  :o.

You know where the pace came from? Wallace, thats where! Out coached the Rat by a mile. Did you see the fresh legs stats on the 3rd quarter break? TW had about 6 onballers with only 30-40minutes work under their belts. Great stuff Terry, well coached. Suck Carlscum suck
Very true Rex. Wallace had a very good night in the coaches' box. Spot on TM too about the extra training and Kingy willing to bust his guts out. It was just an amazing piece of play where he ran from half-back then did a 1-2 before chucking on the afterburners through the middle. It was very Foley-like  :clapping. As RROFO says we've done very well out of the rookie list under Plough.

It was great to see Sugar play like a captain last night. I'd love to see Jake as a leader also. His attitude, determination and loyalty is exactly what I want to see passed on to the young boys. Once Sugar gives up the Captain's role, Jake as a vice-captain could be a goer. A captaincy group of Foely, Newman and King. This trio would pass on exactly the right message, all hard workers, all driven but all different in their own way bringing different qualities to the job.

Keep up the good work Jake  :thumbsup

King on Kingy

- Form at Coburg meant we had to pick him up.
- Tough nut
- Small guys need to do everything right to get picked up these days.
- Starting up his own business (pumbling). Will work 2 days a week. He realises footy pays more lol. They don't want players being 100% footy.

My favourite player at the moment at the club. In fact all my favourites at Tigerland are the players who have done it the hardway and who work for their teammates - King, Foley, Connors and Thursfield. Now if I can just add Collard and Rance into the mix I will be one happy camper!  :pray

This is Kingy's year!

Tigers' new King pin

Author: By Peter Ryan 4:49 PM Fri 28 March, 2008

Richmond fans love him; Robert Walls and Michael Voss were glowing in their praise. In the language supporters speak, Jake King has a crack every week – a throwback to his football upbringing.

Richmond has found another hard-at-it, cheeky plumber who plays in defence. He turned 24 on Wednesday and has played just 20 games, not missing since making his debut in round four, 2007. His name is Jake King.

Welcome back to Earth with a thud. Hopefully Kingy learns a lot from today after Jones and Grant touched him up. At least he didn't drop his head and didn't give up.

Media Darling one week
Reality Check the next.
I am sure Kingy will be hurt by this weeks shocker and will be back next week to ruin Medhurst, Didak's or Leon Davis' Sunday. :thumbsup

I thought he should have been taken off late in the last quarter. Was ready to kill Harvey and Harvey was sucking him in. He looked as though he was about to snap.
A few minutes later he got Campbell in the guts after he disposed of the ball, which ended up a freak goal. I haven't seen a replay of the incident but it looked late and ordinary live.

Tried his guts out, as usual. Wasn't his night. Wasn't alone.
