The King of pain

RICHMOND defender Jake King has already claimed a well-deserved title this pre-season -- most mentally tough.
The diminutive Tiger stole the limelight in the AFL's season launch at Docklands on Thursday night, with footage of him completing more than 300 push-ups featured in a video of clubs sweating out pre-season training.
His feat was filmed in a summer camp where the players were pushed and tested to breaking point.
``A group called Stealth Development took us and they put us pretty much through hell,'' King said of the four-day camp at the Dandenongs and Anglesea.
``At the end was a little competition with chin-ups and push-ups to see who could get the most. I actually got the most in both. A bit over 300 in push-ups and I got 46, my jumper number in chin-ups.
``It was a bonding thing where they try and break you.
``They put you through everything physically possible and try and break your mental spirit and they weren't able to break us at all. It's a good sign. I think we're becoming closer as a unit.''
King admitted he had since tried to beat his mark but had struggled without teammates rallying around him.
``I actually swore twice during those push-ups and if you swear it's another 40 push-ups per swear word,'' he said.
``I don't think I'll get near it again.''
The clip shows King pausing several times in the 290s, including on 299, before resuming as his teammates count along. As he passes 300, one wag is heard to shout: ``Go for 400!''
