That's an amazingly young and inexperienced side. Gone from last year are Kuret, Young, Jorgensen, Randello and Rimington.

The "experienced" ones left are largely Neville, Shelton, Ronaldson ans Silvester, the only ones to have played 20 VFL games.

In the first month of training they might have needed name tags on their chests.

And that's the nature of VFL footy these days unfortunately - greener pastures. Happens at all VFL clubs

Both Young and Rimington have gone interstate

Yep lost by 40 points in a practice game. There's another thread on it. Mind you Werribee had Darcy, Murphy, Griffen, Street and other Bulldogs playing for them. The only RFC players playing were JON and Casserly.

Coburg   2.0  5.2   6.2   10.5 (65)
Werribee 3.4  8.7 14.9  16.11 (107)

I was there and I looked at it like this - bascially an under 19's squad taking on a much bigger team. Great experience for the young blokes. There were some very impressive youngsters running around - the kid Gazzo looks like an very good pick-up.

And when the real stuff starts and you throw in few bigger blokes from the RFC - things look Ok for the Burgers

You're right Mopsy. A Calder U19's side.

Is the SANFL poaching Victorians? I know every SANFL club and the league made a profit last year so they may have cash to throw around to attract interstate players.

One player to watch this year will be young Sam Robertson.

I was hoping Richmond would rookie list him.

Poaching is a nice way of putting it I would have thought. SANFL CLubs offer big $$$ plus usually guarantee them a job as well

Thanks WP, thought so. The SANFL have said they are pushing to be the premier football league outside the AFL.

From the VFL Record - Round 18

No home final for Coburg

Even if Coburg ends up earning a home final, it won't be played at Coburg's home ground according to Martin Stillman, General Manager of the VFL.

Quote
With City Oval, Coburg still restricted due to the fire that affected the grandstand, meaning that the venue is also unlikely to host a final.

Adult $15
Concession $10
Pensioner $10
Children under 15 years Kids enter finals free thanks to TRUenergy

GRAND FINAL PRICES

No Quarter Given

The Coburg Tigers do one thing better than any other club – they keep the scoreboard ticking over.

They have only been held goalless once and restricted to one-goal quarters on two occasions. This
has resulted in Coburg sitting equal first with Sandringham for the most quarters won, with its goal differential in the ‘black’ in every quarter.

Certainly, Coburg saves its best effort until the last quarter. The Tigers outscore the opposition 71 to 44 goals and have kept the opposition to two goals or less seven times.

Quarters Won 35; Lost 22; Drawn 3  (2nd best record overall)
