Wallace to be Coach
« on: July 14, 2004, 02:36:38 PM »
A guy rang up before on SEN and claimed that he was involved with the Eltham Footy Club(i think it was Eltham) and said that their current coach Phil Mailin has told them that he wont be coaching them next season as he will be at Richmond working under Terry Wallace.

I hope this is true!!

Wasn't Maylin an assistant at the Dogs while Wallace was playing and then Wallace first started coaching the Dogs?

I just hope one way or another they make an decision or better yet an announcement soon. ;)

Yep Phil Maylin has been coach of Eltham since 2003 and was a Bulldog assistant coach when Wallace was there. Maylin was told to move on by the Dogs after Terry left.

Yes Maylin has coached Eltham for 2 years and has Simon Cox,Adam Contessa and Mick Martyn(no the other one) playing there as a result of his days at the Bulldogs. He coached Bulleen-Templestowe before his stint with the dogs.
I know blokes who play there so l'll get my snooping into gear and report back soon.

This will get the tongues wagging ;)
Terry Wallace HAS asked Brian Royal to be one of his assistants next year, he declined the offer either to stay at the Kangaroos or possibly go back to the Bulldogs. Lets hope Terry doesnt ask Libba to be one of his assistants as I will spew !
Seems like Terry is getting his team together already  ;)

Then I better get a 500 litre bucket ;D ;D

I wonder if there is any ex-Tiger players that (if) Terry is going to be coach he would consider bringing to Richmond?

Straight form the horses mouth, I rang Phil and asked him if this is true he strongly denied it, I pressed him and said he definetely doesnt want to get into AFL again, he did say however his future at Eltham is under review, but with confidentiality clauses its not like he can come out and openly admit it.....  ;)

Hmmm interesting news....

I know Wallace's fitness trainer and he said that Libba is staying at the Blues so that will put your mind at ease. He also said that Wallace contacted him after the Cats loss and said your on stand-by. So I know that we did contact Wallace early in the season...havent heard anything since.

Latest from SEN: Wallace to be Coach but not the Tigers
« Reply #12 on: July 19, 2004, 11:19:36 AM »
On my way to work this morning I heard that "Deep Throat" segment.

It was suggested that Don Scott is about to launch his alternative ticket to take over the Hawks and as part of his platform he will guarantee Terry Wallace as coach of the Hawks in 2005. :o :o :o

Timmy Watson added that his "mail" was that if they were to sack Schwab and his assistants it would/could cost the Hawks about $2 million.

Please stop it.......the suspense is driving me crazy.

I am just hoping that the Wallace or Eade deal is done otherwise I hold grave fears now that Schwabb has been given the flick.

We were in a box seat, FRAWLEY quit to give them time to manouvre and if they stuff it up now we are in serious serious trouble both on and off the field.

What is it with wallace , we have to thoroughly look at all options, he is not the be all and end all, i predicted weeks ago that wallace would go to hawks following schwabs resignation, he will go there i reckon, with ayres possibly.
Eade is not such a bad prospect but we need to look all over not just the obvious too many people are banking on wallace to resurrect us, if he does get appointed and fails god so many supporters will calling for heads to roll, so settle back guys and lets hope we get this appointment right.
