Player fitness

Some people have been talking about our fitness as as group and maybe it isnt up to speed.

Just heard Kouta talking about the difference in their fitness now they have a new fitness and conditioning coach.

We have had the same people for a few years now, maybe its time to give them the roger and get someone new who has the runs on the board.

Thoughts?

Far be it for me to think you two are trying to undermine the club in every way you can.
Silly, silly me for having such thoughts  :wallywink

Might it be because he was a fat slob last season?

coming from a personal training and strength and conditioniing background, i have been cursing our fitness and  fitness staff for a decade now.
we are the slowest growing(muscle wise) team in the afl. every team each yr tends to improve their strength and fitness except us.

richo is a prime example, his arms should be as big as the g trains by now, and should have an explosive chest. but he still does not look like he has the right body for the job

sugar, by now, he should be as big as nathan buckley and mark ricciuto, but look at him.
joel bowden, his shoulders need serious work, he is the foirst to admit he hates the gym, and thats bad luck, he should have been forced to muscle u.

we have been the skinniest team for as long as i remember and the weakest

thank god JD is dead so he cant see them now

Hardly trying to undermine the club Moi.

Just something that i thought about after hearing Kouta on SEN today. We have had the same fitness guys in Matt Hornsby and Warren Koeford for a few years now and i dont think that we are were we should be at with fitness and endurance levels.

We are supposed to be a fast team but we are slow.

Some of the younger players arent developing as early as they should muscle wise either.

See X's post, he knows what he is talking about.

Only want our club to be the best.

Just listening to Laidley and he was talking about the kids they've drafted and they haven't come on.
He said, it's a lack of resources to develop these kids.
Haven't we been pretty lean in the footy department for a number of years because of the same thing - no cash to spend on facilities of the ilk of Collingwood.

It's okay for you Essendon fanatics to say how good they are compared to us.  They have cash coming out of every oriface.  Until we're in the same position to compete at the level these sides are, we're always going to languish.

We are supposed to be a fast team but we are slow.

There's two parts to being a quick side. Individual speed and quick ball movement. Yesterday the blame went on the latter.

Agree though Bully that all positions within the club including the performance of our fitness and conditioning staff should be reviewed each year. Especially so given our injury list already.
