Seeing those ferrets running after our players on the Footy Classified footage just shows how much the media love to really put down our club.


Cuz, a ONE WEEK suspension and they follow him around like he's a serial killer on trial.

Agree RR. It was Connors fault yet Cuz's face is on the front page of tomorrow's Herald-Sun. It was Connors who got smashed off his face and wanted to take everyone on.

This will be Cuz's last year anyway so why should the Club part with him before the end of the season and add to the media's obsession and headlines.

Agree. The fact they all either state they would have never had him to the club in the first place or that he will be gone in the next month is deplorable! What has he really done - nothing but not given the journo's the headlines they were hoping for when we drafted him about him losing his way again?!

Caro is like a dog with a bone the way she continues to write her own truth even when the club has gone on record stating categorically that Cousins has NOT been spoken to by any member of the current club about his drinking. Made her look silly so now she will continue to run with it just the same as her vendetta to slur Eddie at any opportunity. Cousins is not the story here but she and her buddies make him the story because Ben sells papers where a no-name like Connors doesn't.

Caro stated quiet proudly that she doesn't given any favours out to her sources or has alliances with any clubs. I hope when we regain our power as a club and become the medias new golden club, we remember that and give her nothing.  

I hope Cousins proves them all wrong and has a stellar season.

That would be the media's wish. They get another "dramatic" headline out of it.

Of course there are other issues. I've just think he'll want to play out the season, retire on his terms (so he's out of the AFL loop) and then release his doco in full.

Yes, but what about the documentary? My point is that you've been implying for some time now that you have some kind of insider knowledge that there's more to the Ben Cousins saga than meets the eye. The "hospital visits" the "knee injury", and the over-use of "inverted comma's" ........

Case in point on the media making this about Cousins, Channel nine pre news headlines last night..."Cousins given one week suspension, while another player got eight weeks"
Wonder if they even knew who "another" player was!....VULTURES!

Only bit about Richmond tonight was about Simmo and Tucky.

Lyon said there's no point playing them in the side. Tucky tries hard and gets lots of the ball but turns it over nearly every time (they showed about six kicks from Tucky going straight to Melbourne players). While Simmo is just making basic mistakes and looks finished (showed him dropping marks, fumbling and missing targets). Both look like players who know their future is under a cloud and their making basic mistakes.

Caro is concerned about Vickery also. Lyon said he's young so he has time on his side and you play him. Simmo and Tuck have had their time and it's time to go. No point playing them.

Caro said there was talk earlier in the year that the Club wanted Simmo to play on again next year given the ruck situation with Graham not coming on but she can't see that happening now. Simmond's been poor this year.


ps. Hutchy called it a "good call" that the bookies are paying out already on us winning the spoon.

Hutchy also reckons it's a "good call" that Connors should be allowed to play at VFL level (we barred him from playing for six weeks). Even if it's for 10 weeks Connors should be playing some footy.

A little bit on us last night's show....

They showed the vision again of Jack Riewoldt on the outskirts of the forwards group at half-time not looking like he was paying attention to watch the forward line coach was saying. Then they cut to our first forward foray in the 3rd quarter and Jack was 10m behind his Freo opponent who took an easy uncontested mark.

They also showed Jack falling backwards easily to try and pull a free when Ballantyne gave him a slight push. Lyon wanted that pulled up as part of the new anti-diving rule.

Good call/bad call question ---- Deledio is not a midfielder?
Garry Lyon said bad call. He's a HBF at Richmond because that's his best position given the ball is down there a lot but if he was at Geelong he'd be in the middle and be a champion.
