The term gun can be applied to anyone, just depends how stringent your own criteria is.

Good point Bluey, i think Walker has been very good this year and has improved his consistency especially in comparison to past years.

I reckon MT considers being able to single-handedly win games as criteria of being a gun.

Browny and Richo have both done that. Yet to see Walker do that even though he has done a couple of really good things.

walker is in my dream team, but i would still think a fully fit raines is teh equal of walker

walker has always possessed the physical attributes to dominate eg great combo of height and athleticism.
Also has some indigenous blood which would explain some of the freakish things he is capable of. Have not seen him a great deal this year but when I have seen him he looked like a gun. Perhaps won't become a champion player, just don't see that, but could become an Embley type very good player.

that is debatable.

Raines is a gem of a late pick but this year he has shown that he has a fair few facets of his game that needs to be improved.

Kicking is one. Seems to have improved over the past couple of weeks but not perfect
Decision-making. Some can be quite poor and put team-mates under pressure
Awareness. Too often he charges forward without taking in his envirnoment, and because of this often gets caught
needs more dimensions to his game. Learning to play tall is a step in the right direction but in terms of attacking will need to find more ways of leaving the defensive 50 rather than just straight ahead

Agreed, Walker was slow over his first 2-3 seasons but this year has showed why he was the number one pick in his year.

Actually a very good point you make Bull about Walker taking a few years to develop - they aren't all guns from the beginning

Spot on Jack. From the day Browny arrived at Punt Rd his skills and smarts put to shame our so called best players. He's our only truely A-grade player.

Yep pretty much. That's why Foley was so impressive on Saturday night. He took it upon himself to try and drag us across the line. Unfortunately with our mostly young and inexperienced side his efforts weren't rewarded with a win.
