Plough says he's going to play the kids
« on: April 26, 2007, 02:08:34 PM »
Plough appears to be fed up with our senior players going by his comments in EOTT and now plans to down the whole youth course:

Quote
We’re going through a bit of a transition period ...... I think we’ve been able to take experience out of our side and do no worse in relation to playing against the best sides in the competition....... we want to be lining ourselves up against the best sides in the competition and seeing if we’re advancing....... the quicker you get games into some of these young blokes, the quicker you’ll get those results. And, if you want to go backwards, put more senior blokes in and less kids in. My philosophy is while we’re in this situation, put more kids in and keep playing them until we get things right.

Mark Robinson's message to Plough: "TANK!"
« Reply #2 on: April 26, 2007, 06:17:45 PM »
Mark Robinson just said on SEN that we should tank this year. We're not going to make the Eight so the best thing Terry can do for Richmond is tank, play the kids and get games into them. He did agree with Laidley that we are doing that already. There's only so many kids you can play.

Whatever

But I still want to see them playing seniors because they deserve it

I entirely agree. They shouldn't get played just because they're young.

No one counted on Browny winning games off his own boot in those first 9 weeks of 2005.

Judging by the better players and reports from the Coburg game on ANZAC day, they are worthy of a game. Connors, Meyer, Jack, Moore, etc, and young Casserly from the week before and young Collins in earlier Coburg games (until injury) are all screaming for a senior call up :clapping Sorry, forgot Polo as well

Today was further evidence Plough needs to put his faith in the kids and play them. They'll be up and down week to week but we need to get games into them. Many of them have the talent to succeed.

Petts is really struggling. He might be carrying something but he hasn't done anything for the past 4 weeks.

Krak was dropped when the weather forecast changed to sunshine. Glad JON came in.
