The president, football director, coach and captain will be all in attendance tomorrow for Tuesdays with Terry.

Rumour has it we may spend the whole week in Adelaide between the Port and Adelaide games to avoid the Melbourne spotlight. Find out tomorrow.

SEN will play the audio from Tuesday with Terry. The actual press conference starts at 2.30pm but IIRC they said they would replay it at 3.30pm. So best to tune in from 2.30pm onwards.

the press conference just dragged on, cliche after cliche, we heard nothing new. it was as boring as watching grass grow, so sen went back to their normal broadcast.

waste of a press conference.

we better go out and put in a big effort in adelaide this week , cos if we dont, terry and sugar will look like total fools.

Pretty much nothing new although not much they can say that anyone will take notice of anyway. Actions speak louder than words.

Wallace blamed our injuries in particular to our ruckman as to why we've been smashed around the stoppages all year. Just can't get first use of the ball. Look like we're going after another ruckman via a trade or PSD = Bye Bye Knobel. They mentioned Graham as a young ruckman still learning his way at VFL level but not Patto even as a 2nd ruck.

Blamed only having 4 blokes with 100+ games experience. Miller repeated he has faith in our young guys. Said it was unfair to have a go at JON who only played 2 AFL and 6 VFL games last year due to injury and had a stress fracture during the preseason.

Plough said we can't add really add anymore kids into the side. I thinking some supporters will go ape when some old names come back this week.

March was the most impressive of the lot. Said we're not going to chuck away a plan half way through just because we may have taken a step backwards. That what's happened in the past. We're going to see through the plan till the end.

Sugar said he didn't believe the group was soft. He didn't think we were that quiet a group and there's more extroverts in the younger guys. They just need to get the confidence to speak up out on the park. I would  say if they want someone like that instantly in the team then pick Jack this week.

Terry did say the following.
Quote "" we have not got a youth policy and we will play the best possible team based on current form each week""

This is different to what he said last week when he said""we were going for youth and try to get game time into them.""

And he said that ""Pettifer has made improvement from last year""
I nearly ran off the road driving when  he said that.

In my opinion Pettifer is lucky not to be playing at Coburg, he has been very ordinary this year.

Terry also stated"" that the supporters had been good""
Hey Terry, half the supporters went home at half time on Sunday night.

I havent heard so much gabbage in all my life.

Kane Johnson said he didnt beleive the group was soft.
Hate to tell you this sugar, the other 15 clubs think that Richmond is real soft! FACT!  Just ask Ryan Griffen!

Plough also said we lack the senior core (and in form) unlike Port and Brisbane and that puts pressure on the young guys and puts them in positions before they are ready. Also said it's taken Carlton 5 years (despite the draft penalties) to just get back on their feet. On the ruck he said Essendon went through this last year with Ryder needing to do it before he was ready.

He said based on the first 5 weeks he wouldn't call us soft. If we put in anymore efforts like Sunday then people would have the right to call us soft.

Wallace also praised supporters and he hasn't seen any of the over the top behaviour which he use to see sitting in the outer. Said supporters have a right to be angry.

Apologetic Tigers to swing AFL axe
The Age
May 8, 2007 - 4:34PM

Richmond will make as many as six changes for Saturday's AFL match against Port Adelaide as the club responds to the worst loss in their history.

Tigers coach Terry Wallace, captain Kane Johnson, president Gary March and football director Greg Miller fronted a huge media pack on Tuesday to face questioning over Sunday's 157-point belting at the hands of Geelong.

Wallace said it was an unacceptable performance and the selection axe would be swung hard.

"You can't accept efforts that are not up to standard," Wallace said.

"Unfortunately some people didn't play as well as what they would have liked to, they'll pay the price for that and others will come in."

He said as many as six changes were likely, with at least two to be forced by injury, with ruckman Troy Simmonds (ankle) and half-forward Richard Tambling (shoulder) certain to miss.

Key forward Jay Schulz (corked thigh) is also in doubt.

But Wallace said long-term his young squad would not be harmed by the huge loss and it would not sway the club from their rebuilding strategy.

He said Richmond's list had been described by some as a "car wreck" when he took over the coaching job ahead of the 2005 season and it was still being fixed.

"It can take a period of time, especially when you started with an ageing list to develop that and turn it around," Wallace said.

"We had I think four players on the weekend that had played 100-plus games, that's fairly inexperienced.

"It's still no excuse for the manner in which we played and the manner in which we lost the game, but certainly we were very, very young."

March said he had no doubt Wallace was the right man for the coaching job and would certainly stay for the remaining two-and-a-half years of his five-year contract.

"All we can say to our supporters is we've got to go through a process and see it through," March said.

"I don't think in the past we went through a process and saw it through in its entirety.

"That's what we've got to do this time is see the process through.

"We've seen it through off-field, we've now got to see it through on-field, you can't chop and change just because things don't go right halfway through a plan.

"Maybe some mistakes this football club made in the past was chopping and changing halfway through a plan ... we've got to stick with it and be solid with it.

"If we do I've got no doubt we'll get the outcome that Richmond supporters desire."

Johnson admitted he and many of his team-mates were down on form and apologised to supporters for Sunday's pathetic showing.

"We're sorry for the performance the other night, it was inexcusable and we're embarrassed about it," Johnson said.

"We just want to make sure that we do everything we can to turn it around in the next few weeks and show everyone that we are serious about where we're going."
