If thats how the system works, it is certainly flawed.

But why?  I still don't understand it.  If we end up on bottom of the ladder and they say finish second from the bottom, why do they get the priority pick?

Pretty sure that if a team wins 4.5 games or less 2 years in a row they get a priority pick before the first round of the National Draft for that 2nd year. It is after the first round for the first year.
For argument's sake and if my take on the new rule is correct, if Carlton win 4 games this year and we win 3 their priority pick would have to be pick 1 in the ND whereas ours would be pick 18.  They'd get 1, 3 & 20 as their first 3 picks and we'd get 2, 18 & 19.

That would be a disgrace if that happened especially if it's Carlton who cheated the system. It should either everyone's priority pick is before round one or everyone's PP is after.

We don't play them again this year X. The AFL used a different system this year to come up with the fixture. For instance we play Port again at the 'G in about 6-7 weeks time. You don't play the team you played in round 1 a second time.

Still I agree X the Blues will win more than 4 games. Pratt expects 10 wins and Kernahan 8 so Pagan knows he has to win games.

Yep, a much "fairer" system where you can be sent to Adelaide 2 weeks in a row and play 3 "Home" games at Telstra Dome even though the deal requiring teams to do so has finished. 

Poor Matt Kreuzer is not getting much of a go.

if teh afl are fairdinkum about a fair sytem, scarp the bs nab cup, scrap all practice matches and have a 30 rnd season with a final 5 not 8. there should not be a 50% chance to make finals.

or/

have 2 groups(not divisions) where the teams get rotated in the groups evey yr so they player each other equal times over a period
and the gf winner of each group play for the premiership cup. with this system they could bring in 4 new clubs (another WA.SA.Tas and either qld or sydney)
so there would be 2 groups of 10, an 18 rnd system, final 4  syastem and superbowl like premiership game

Why not just go back to the way it used to be instead of trying to sanitise it etc?
