picture of palmer looks like he was taking the peee.

certainly wasn't a flattering picture  :lol

It reminds me of a scene of a 16 or 17 year old whose seen a footy go over the fence at a junior game like under 12s somewhere - and instead of kicking it back decides to take it home lol... he'll go top 10 Palmer but it shows this draft aint no draft where you want to be pick past 25 or 30 or in our case 34.

you can still find some bargains late in the draft, there always are, you just need to do your homework to find good players this year.

But we are lucky (assuming we get a PP) because we have picks where the talent still is

True bluey. This year will be a real test for all club recruiters. It's probably on par with the poorer 2002 and 2003 drafts.

I'd liken it to 2003, nothing compares to the crapness of 2002.

Some identified gun talents at the top re Kreuzer, Cotchin, Masten, Ebert, Morton and a decent amount of depth.

Maybe its a draft to give VFL listed players a go - late. For us thered be nothing wrong in going with Neville at 50, Anderson at 66 and Sylvester at 82 or something like that.

No problem with that Ramps. You would need to take Sylvester at 66 at least. He and Neville now have a profile with Andy Collins and us pumping them up. Essendon are allegedly snooping around too.

That's okay for us if it's the same as long as we don't lose our PP. The 2003 draft stopped at pick 20 (Sam Butler) with just a handful of players making it after that. We had pick 21 and Miller went speculative with Gilmour  :P yet Rainesy was at 76  :thumbsup.

U18 Champs - NT defeats Qld
« Reply #82 on: July 10, 2007, 01:26:19 PM »
From BF: Link

NT   1.2   5.3   11.4    17.9-111
Qld  2.2   6.5   11.6    12.12-84

Low standard. Rioli starred but not much to get excited about.

After having 10 draftees last year, Qld have certainly come crashing back to Earth in 2007  :o. NSW are blitzing Tassie on the way to the Div 2 title.

Wednesday July 11 – Casey Fields, Cranbourne
Why bloody Cranbourne!  :P There goes the idea of popping down for a little while to watch the Div 1 games tomorrow  :scream.

NSW ended winning by 3-4 goals apparently

Bird got the medal for best player in Div 2.

Bird, Cornelius, C. Rioli, Joseph, Collier and Walker were AA.

MVP for each side was

QLD - Zorco
NSW - Bird
Tas - Joseph
NT - Wonaeamirri
