Polo to have scans today

Michael Horan

Tigers full-forward Matthew Richardson hopes to be out for only two or three weeks after he fractured an eye socket against Adelaide on Friday night.

Looking like someone who had been hit by a bus, Richardson is keen to get back as soon as possible.

"He's got a cracked eye socket, two black eyes and a broken nose, so he probably looks a lot worse than he feels," Armstrong said.

"He's a bit hard on himself because he's taking the blame for the injury. He said if he'd held the mark, he wouldn't have been in a position to get his face broken."

Dean Polo, who dislocated a shoulder against the Crows, will have scans today and the Tigers hope he will be able to defer any surgery until after the season.

"He's a chance. Sometimes you can play with a shoulder and get it fixed at the end of the year," Armstrong said.

"But if it shows it needs surgery now, that will be it for the majority of the season."

Richmond is desperate to get its stars back on the field as it seeks to stop its worst start to a season.

The nine-point loss to the Crows took its record to 0-8 as it prepares for the "Dreamtime" clash against Essendon at the MCG on Saturday night.

Any confirmation on what's happening with Polo?

BF seem to think he got the okay to play on with his shoulder as he can't do any more damage to it.

As mentioned in the training thread, Polo was at training and did the whole session so we've obviously leaving the shoulder surgery until the end of the season.

Although he didnt participate in the tackling drills that the melbourne storm took first.
And he didnt attempt to put his arms above his head ;)

I think, like Tambo, Polo will miss just the one week although Tambo hasn't done much since he returned.

A touch harsh Mopsy lol

Before Tambo got crunched early in the Geelong game I thought his previous couple of weeks were a significant step up in his output and value to the team. He got 16 possies this week but I hardly noticed him out there last night apart from his two shots on goal and a couple of cheap possies in a back pocket/flank.
