Apparently a truce has been agreed and a formal statement to be made later today.
Bryan Wood will be placed on the coaching sub-committee to appoint the coach.
Barry Humpfries can look at the books.
AGM will most likely be brought forward to December after coach is appointed.
Both parties to tell Pahoff to not submit petition.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

Very happy with that situation if its true.
Im glad if the egos subside for the good of the club, and we can work away at appointing a coach, drafting and trading periods without major disruption :thumbsup

Don't want Dame Edna looking at our books lol
Sounds a pretty good deal - should assuage everyone concerned about the finances.
And Woody can look after the coaching part.
Sounds good to me.

And also shows future coaches ppl can still act sensibly amid this ruckus.

Just to let everyone know that we have merged HarryH's and HarryB's topics "Truce" and "compromise".

As HarryB's post is the earliest time wise it has gone to the top of this thread -sorry about that HarryH :thumbsup

Exactly BK - sanity may have finally prevailed. Lets get the coach and we are on our way. Seems 28/7/04 may turn out to be a good day for our Club, first the TAC report and now this - thanks to everyone Casey, Schwab, Welsh. :thumbsup
=====

Question did someone at that meeting read OER's "On the Prowl" last night or this morning because this is what I said..

"Why can't there be a compromise? Why can't the alternate ticket wait until the end of the year? Clinton Casey has offered January, the Schwab ticket wants an election by September. Why can't we have it in December? How hard is it to compromise in the best interests of our Club?"

Maybe they read my post about including Wood on the selection committee for the new coach.

I think we should form our own OER ticket for December.

I reckon you are onto something Bully - only problem we'd probably have more than 9 people on our ticket

Petition anyone?  :rollin

Although an EGM is not totally off the cards (it was mentioned on SEN this morning that if differences flare up over the next two months it could still sadly head that way), it is finally good to hear some commonsense prevail. Obviously Casey and Schwab read WP's little speal in the OTP section and went for a December AGM  :thumbsup.

IMO the AGM should be held in December anyway. I know most corporations hold their AGM's in January but footy clubs are unique beasts and they should really be focussing on the new season by January not still analysing and discussing the previous one.

Richmond rivals agree to compromise
28 July, 2004
ABC

A meeting between Richmond president Clinton Casey and former board member Brendan Schwab has resulted in a number of compromises.

Mr Schwab is leading a rival ticket against Mr Casey and the current board.

Mr Casey has agreed to Mr Schwab's call for a member of his ticket to be on the selection panel for a new senior coach.

Schwab has delayed his leadership challenge until the club's annual general meeting, which has been brought forward from January to December.

Mr Schwab will issue a statement this afternoon.

Hmmmmm..

You’d like to think so Ox.  Somehow, I don’t think Schwab and his mates have caught on though.  They’re still living in the dark ages.

Whats all this mean and what will all these people bring to the rfc?

More than likely nothing much Wrenny.

It’s probably as harmless an influence as anyone could have.

Apart from these guys running back and snitching on the current Board, not sure what they hope to achieve.

Just wish they’d take their big fat egos somewhere else.

If they think this wasting of people’s time and energy is in the best interests of the Richmond Football Club, then God help us.
