ESSENDON and Richmond's Round 21 blockbuster could be shown live on the big screen at Federation Square.
Bomber officials have held talks with Fed Square chiefs about showing a live telecast against the gate.
The MCG showdown is expected to be Kevin Sheedy's final Melbourne match in charge of his beloved Bombers.
It could also be former skipper James Hird's last AFL appearance in Victoria, unless the Bombers make the finals after their upset victory against Adelaide yesterday.
A sell-out crowd of up to 95,000 is tipped for the twilight clash on Sunday, August 26, with just 25,000 tickets still to be sold. Sheedy played 251 games with the Tigers from 1967-79, including three premierships, before joining Essendon where he has coached for 27 seasons.
His last match will be against the Eagles in Perth in Round 22.
Essendon would need approval from the AFL and the game's broadcaster, Fox Sports.
