We are suddenly well stocked for young KPPs at the club after going so long being too light on. Previously the pressure and expectations on our young talls has been too much, simply because we didn't have the depth so we absolutely needed them to succeed. Now we are finally being smart about it and adding depth so that there's competition for spots and if a bloke doesn't make it we're not dead in the water.
Silvestor adds that immediate competition for spots, keeping the pressure on Thursty and McGuane. With no Gaspar, Kellaway or Hall, we needed to ensure that we have enough options available to play in defence so that players didn't take their spot for granted.
Also continuing the good form of selecting a player from Coburg each draft. We are already seeing the results with a lot of talented kids coming to the Burgers now as they see a clear path to the AFL.
