WTF are they playing him at CHB?

He has been disappointing this year.
Has gone backwards after his RSA runner up award.

Needs a reality check.

Yeah a stupid coach who wants to lose would only line up a smaller player like Raines against a champion triple B&F gaint
Raines has had some really crazy match ups this year the Tiger supporters should vent a little more we know its wrong
Runs along the lines of matchups with Bowden, Polak, Newman, King & so on
Terry Wallace has done nothing to please me with his matchup this year infact its cost us a fair few games
if he does the same next year l stuffen get the ticket running for a overthrow on him

IMO 3 areas that he needs to improve in are:

1) Kicking
2) peripheral vision in picking up players to handball to
3) show better awareness
He lacks footy smarts, can you teach that to a player?

He should ask Connors for a few lessons.
And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do

i think he tries to do too much most times.

i.e. takes on too many people.

Needs to dish it off to first option more often. He is too predictable and opp. teams know what he is like.

He would be one of the main causes for turnovers.

Agree Bull.

Summed it up perfectly.

I will admit to being very disappointed at times this year. MT can vouch I almost blew the "woofer" valve on Saturday :rollin

Rainsey will be fine next year.
Second year blues, no different to Lids last year.
If he gets to play on players that aren't twice his size maybe he'd get some confidence happening again.

Yes even the "T" word was put out as a suggestion  ;)

Someone else from OER near us who shall remain nameless did blow his "woofer" value after a Rainesy turnover late in the game  :shh

Rainey's main problem this year was lack of awareness. It's all very well to want to play on all the time and run and carry as instructed but not when an opponent is right behind or right in front of you. As Bully says he needs to choose the first option and dish the ball off. He can then run on and get it back in space rather than trying to beat 2-3 opponents all by himself.

Brian Royal's RFC player review

Andrew Raines

‘Rainsey’ probably went away after a good season last year and did not come back in as good a shape as he should have. I think he realises that and I’m sure he’ll be a better player next year.

They blamed Rainesy not coming back in as good a shape on the Irish tour late last year.

can blame his teammates for lack of talk when his carrying the ball
this is why he lacks confidence & bad decision making, causing turnover & being rundown consistantly
this stems from the Captain showing lack of communication to players
this stems from the leader group mainly Joel Bowden showing lack of communication to players in his area
this stems from the backline coach showing lack of communication to players under his control
this stems from the coach Wallace showing lack of communication to Coaches
NO COMMUNICATION = skill errors you lose everytime

a bad season overall
hope that 2008 brings a better wiser player

And a lack of playing Raines in a suitable position.

i.e. not on key forwards like Riewoldt.
