marice was also a golden gloves, but he let his football do the talking on the football field. He would have copped racial taunts that would make make the modern footballer lose the plot. (or curl up in the foetal position and cry for mama for floppy roosters like jetta)

Who was it that refused to fight Rioli in the ring? Jackson? or the pinhead he ended up fighting?

Hadn't realised until I rewatched the highlights that it was Picken that Trent put the boa constrictor tackle on coming out of the guts.
Reminded me of his reaction to Raines after he kicked that goal the previous week.
The boy does enjoy getting his bit of payback against the taggers doesn't he?.

Unsocialable footy  :thumbsup. The rest of the team needs more of that killer instinct and making the opposition pay.

Cotch is on such a different level out there on the ground it isn't funny. It's no coincidence that in the 3rd quarter as soon as he went into the middle at the centrebounce he won the clearance and turned the momentum back our way after the Dogs kicked 5 goals in a row. He's a freak! He was as a junior in the U18s when I saw him play and with his body (ankles/achilles) now right (touchwood) he's now dominating at AFL level  :bow.

RICHMOND great Matthew Richardson has declared gun midfielder Trent Cotchin as the next captain of the club and has revealed that the Tigers were aware of his elite skills years before he was drafted.

On this week's episode of The Whiteboard on AFL.com.au, Richardson recalled that Cotchin trained with the club when he was 16 and that he won a beach flags competition at Elwood beach during a pre-season training exercise.

"He rarely, if ever goes to ground and if he does he's very quick to recover," Richardson said, while assessing Cotchin's work at stoppages and clearances.

"Trent is very composed at tight situations. Look at his eyes in tight situations. He never grimaces and keeps his composure.

"It's why he always gets rid of the ball and gives it to one of his teammates. He gets the ball to his feet very quickly, has great hand-eye co-ordination and has always been a one-touch player."

Richardson also praised Cotchin's work as a forward and said his ability to kick two or three goals a game makes him elite. And he outlined several examples of Cotchin's on-field leadership to support his claim that he will be the next captain of Richmond.

"A lot of the Tiger supporters are excited about how good he could be, including me," he said.
