Yeah or Neah - 16. Patrick Bowden
« on: September 03, 2007, 03:47:30 PM »
Last year around this time we took a look at each Tiger on the borderline and got opinions on who should stay or go. So I thought we do the same with the current crop.

Paddy is first up. After playing all 22 games in 2006 averaging 20 disposals, Paddy only played 3 this year and none after round 4 due to a hip injury after being dropped back to Coburg in round 3 and then recalled. After returning from a long lay-off he has played the last month or so at Coburg.

So should he stay or be delisted?

He's played 8 games at Coburg since his return from injury.

My answer to your question is "I'm not sure".

Stay.
We need players with leadership qualities and experience.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Dunno, he was good for us in 2006.

He's handy, will never be any more than that.

Depends on how many Richmond chop, he might just be safe.

Yeah he can stay IMHO - we need some older heads and bodies around the place in case we cop injuries.

Ala the Kingsley plan that didn't work out to plan ;D

Nasty injury Paddy had and the leadership he has shown at Coubrg has been very good so he's a keep form mine -also helps he'd be on a 1 year deal and very cheap ;D

He adds great value to the Coburg side & its a hard call
we get these players for thier value for the senior side & not to be playing every week for Coburg or being injured

1. What was his injury & has he had it before  ???

2. is he injury prone & how many games of AFL football has he played in the last 5 years  ???

3.How many VFL games has he played in the last 5 years  ???

4.his total overall games AFL / VFL  ???

5.how many games has he missed from what injuries

6.of course what age is he at  ???

those questions should keep someone busy today while l get into my work

l watched him play for coburg for the last few weeks
he is a good player at VFL level & has been playing well
will watch him play out the season before making a decision about him cause he did miss alot of games through injury

its up to paddy in the next week or weeks to decide if he wants to play on by his performances

I went through the list last night and had 12 I had as delistable.

Paddy was included but I think he'd be in the "top" 3-5 out of that 12 that wont get the boot.

He has alot to prove.

I would say keep him but I really don't know. All I know is the Bowdens have come through for us for a very long time and we actually owe them. So then it has to be keep him for me.

I was one who was ROFLLMAOLMIOPARO  :banghead when we picked up B2.
He kinda stuck it to me a bit first year.
This year for various reasons stuggled.
If he can play out the VFL finals showing the form he did against Geelong keep, as we need someone like him as a spare.
If not or he plays like he did in the VFL granny in 2005 FHO .....

I don't mind P-Bo...give him one more year. Others should go before he does.
My parents bought me a Richmond jumper and enrolled me in a junior footy clinic in 1981...look at me now.

Stay for mine. A good backup player who on his day can play some pretty good footy. Injury obviously hasn't helped him this year but I thought he was pretty good for us last year.

A keeper for me.

If fit he would always be pushing for a spot in the team and therefore helps keep everybody honest. I really did like him last year and see no reason he cant regain his spot.
