Chaplin game wasn't that great? Got beaten by Tippett a fair bit. 1 on 1 is awful.

Chippy kicks are awful too.

Go watch the game again, he repelled a lot of forward thrusts and kept Tippit out of the game.

He was out marked on 3 occasions in the last qtr and did a lazy right foot kicked to Ellis which dribbled out of bounced when he should've handballed. Too casual, too often.

Edwards did a lazy kick as well that resulted in a goal, Ellis wasn't seen until the third qtr late and neither were many others. Have to disagree, i thought he played very well in the bacline last night and occasionally up the ground.

While i would still like to upgrade on chaplin i though he did pretty good last night. A number of tippet's marks were as much down to the delivery of the ball as much as anything.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

We almost have an obligation to not just Richmond but all of football to win flags while the likes of Rance, Cotchin & Martin are still on our list.

Counter argument:

A team playing Chaplin, Grigg, Newman.

Cannot win a flag

Unless  rance, cotchin and co. continue with superhuman efforts. For months

Can't knock Chaplin's game last night.  Played very very well!

Hard to look good playing alongside Rance.

Chaplin 18 possies and 8 marks his opponent  tippet 10 posies , 1 goal, I think it's safe to say he got. The points there  ::), him and rance are unstoppable  :shh

you dont think that when a backman has nearly twice the possessions of his opponent he has had the better of his opponent?

A defender getting 8 touches more than a forward in modern day football isn't impressive

Rance was fantastic. Thank god we got him for the next 4 years. my favourite passage would have to be when there was 12 mins left in the 4th quarter and the Swans spotted Franklin in the pocket only for Rance to launch himself and fist straight into the hands of a teammate (think it was Martin?)

that passage when he outran Franklin controlled the ball with a tap to himself and kicked it laces out to Vickery was great also

is this a selective observation or does it apply to everyone?

by what criteria do you base if a defender has the better of a forward?
