What are your expectations for Blingers this year and what would be a good year for him?

Expecting big things from Richie :thumbsup

I think people will notice a bit of added bulk in the upper body.

Think he take on a more prominent role in the mid-field.

Want to see him being a goal kicking mid-fielder but he needs to keep working on the defensive side of his game, that is pressuring the opposition when he hasn't got the ball. Want to see him use his speed to chase blokes down :thumbsup

Focus is the key word with Richie IMO. Just needs to stay in the game.

Has all the tools to be as good as Andrew McLeod IMO.
This year or the next he'll 'click' and he is going to give us plenty to smile about.

Same here WP  :thumbsup. Like most Tigers he needs to work on his tackling.

I still think Tambo is a year or two off really turning it on but I expect him to take a more prominent role in the midfield especially clearances at centre bounces. People probably saw him more a outside type with his pace when he started but he's not afraid to end up on the bottom of a pack.

I think that Richie will develop into an elite winger and that this year he will start to perform much more consistently this year, given a good preseason he will develop the stamina needed to be the gun winger he is going to become

No more excuses for the kid now.

He needs to play like he wants a career in the AFL.
No 15-20 minute cameos every 3-4 weeks, he needs consistensy and also needs to play without fear.
If this guy can gain some confidence, he has the tools to become the player we all hoped for.

The question remains whether that desire burns inside him hard enough for mine.

He can't stop others bringing up Franklin's name all the time which obviously got to him last year. Blingers' just got to focus on getting the best out of himself and blanking out the things which are out of his control and have no real affect on him in terms of playing footy each week.

I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of his. So in that I think that he will have a great year where he belongs in the VFL with Coburg. He has had enough time to prove his worth and hasn't delivered.

neither am i to date but geez mate if we have given schulz so much time to prove himself we should give him 1 or 2 more years.

problem is we have so many like the above who never fire a shot. tambling, schulz, casserly, oakleigh-nichols, meyer, etc etc
im getting very impatient with the lot of them to be honest

I think he will become a good player for us but I am not convinced he will become a star. I used to become frustrated that he wasn't dominating games for us already but I came to realize that with his attitude and work ethic he over achieved arounf draft time which resulted in us picking his earlier than I believe he should have gone.

I hope I am wrong but as long as he becomes a solid consistant player for us who occasionally shows us glimpses of brillance I will be satisfied. Expecting anything beyond that of Bling I believe is unfair.

Either way high expectations and comparisons do nothing but hold the young fellow back and until the media and the footy world 'forget' about him he will never be able to brush aside this own inner demons and reach is potential.

Just my opinion of course

3 season (2008 is going to be his 4th yr) for a 21yo is enough time to prove his worth ??? Compared to who? Buddy Franklin ??? Anyone else we should throw in that bracket? Casserley perhaps because this his 3rd season and yet to play a senior game, Meyer?

Incredibly harsh I would think but your entitled to your opinion.

Tambling will be an extremely good player for us, what he needs more than anything is consistency and 21 going on 22 (in Sept) that would be what is expected of all of them from that 2004 draft (Deledio, Tambling, Polo, Patto, Meyer)

He needs to start picking up the loose ball first grab around packs.
You don't get 2 or 3 bites at it in the AFL. It doesn't matter how quick you are if you can't pick the thing up clean.
