That's all we need before our season opener against Carlscum.
A trip to Geelong to have them knock out any confidence we may have
by giving us a belting and setting the standard the new season.  :banghead
Although on a positive the last time we went to Geelong and lost last year in round 18 we beat the Skunks in round 19  :thumbsup

Might toughen us up too..

The fragility of our confidence at the best of times makes me think otherwise so I am going on the evidence of the past..................
Hopefully for themselves and for our sanity Mr Magic the lads have a steely resolve that runs deep for this year and will be evident in all games..........

Most clubs will put their round 1 side on the park in the last practice match  :help.

On the positive side though Carlton will seem like a breeze after Geelong ;D

Surely after Cairns and the Riverina Richmond deserved a Melbourne match.

Carlton in Alice Springs, Geelong at Carrara and Richmond at Narrandera. Guess which club doesn't get a home practice game the week after  ::).

imo its the best match we could of hoped for before the season proper.

not interstate only 50 mins down the highway
will be the ultimate test against the reigning premiers at their home ground.
playing carlscum will seem a walk in the park after this.
dont care if we win or lose as long as we learn about the intensity needed and carry that into round1.

no problemos here

We actually had a much more steely resolve last year than in previous years but were unable to match our opponents over 4 quarters in strength, stamina and experience.  If we show the same resolve with another year of growing then it will play out favourably on the scoreboard.   :thumbsup

Happy enough with that , probably going away on saturday so it suits me.
Melbourne would have been better but might make a day of it and go across on the ferry  ;D

Tend to agree playing the best side in the comp isn't a bad way to go into rnd 1

I'll be waiting for round 1 thanks.
In regards to the match, best possible scenario and hope the Cats come out all guns blazing.
No more hiding Tigers - I have gagged myself from comment on coach and team performance but I will say this.

Im doing my best to attend this game as I still like the suburban type feel to Kardinia Park.

I'll send reports via SMS if i'm a definate starter.
