I heard a rumour that Hawthorn are waiting to see what Leigh Matthew's will do next year.  Didn't Matthew's only sign a year contract at the end of last year?  Will he lead Brisbane to a fourth flag and then come back as Hawthorn's Messiah??

I think it was a 3 year deal Julz.

Funny you should mention this Julz - my local butcher who is a Hawks member said the same thing - that is once Brisbane win the flag - Leigh will come "home". As I pointed out to my butcher while he was holding a rather large knife - Leigh Matthews is not the sort of bloke who walks out on a contract.

It is sad in a way (and I mean this - not in a smart alec way) that Hawk supporters are holding out for this sort of thing. Tiger fans have done it for years with Sheedy and it doesn't do you any good at all IMO.

Interesting I read this morning that Don Scott has said his ticket may not honour the contract of any coach appointed by the Dicker board - this feuding gives new meaning to rabble

meh they have not been that impressive

that had a core of hodge-mitchell etc. which we did not and tanked again for franklin/roughead

if the win only one flag this 'era' its been a failure imo
