Bowden dropped
« on: April 10, 2008, 09:43:59 PM »
According to the footy show there's a big name dual B&F out even though he's been named in the side.

Has to be Bowden?!

Yep that's the give away.

Why name Joel when we plan to drop him. Are we trying to give Hutchy big stories  ???.

Do we get fined because he's named in the starting 18?

Don't think so, so long as one of the emergencies plays but in our case we play Sunday so we have an extended bench as the team has not yet been finalised.
So in terms of a fine I do not think so.
Still nevertheless why would we go out on a limb and advertise this especially through someone as facetious and flippant as Hutchy unless there is something more sinister behind this. :whistle

Bowden gone will play for Coburg this week.
Smokescreen axing by Wallace to keep the fans and the media at bay for a little while longer. We need more players to get the chop.

The media have found out anyway so trying to hide the axing worked well  ::).

Yeah Freo spies in Melb would have found out on Sat when Bowden was playing but still makes you wonder how it got leaked to the media and who the mole is.

Mate, you would be very surprised of what leaks out of Punt Road. ;)
If you gathered the players mobile phones up and look through the contacts, you would be very surprsied.

Regardless of the source not very secretive at all by the footy club. No responsibility shown by that person with a lack of regard for the footy club.
No wonder the media have a field day when they write stuff about us regarding infighting, coaches, players, fans etc. It is as if the source of information is reading out a prepared statement for the media.

Interesting to see how the players react to this. As much as Joel has looked disinterested the last two weeks, the match committee put him on Medhurst.

i agree with his dumping and hope he comes back to win the b & f like last time he was dumped from the seniors.
its just baffles me it really does how he was put in that position yet is the scapegoat.
This theory would have had king get dropped after round 2 pitted against the shannon grant.
he isnt the worst by any means. i put our captain streets ahead of him

Joel Bowden is easily in our best 22,why drop him? To make an example? It won`t help us.
