Nice left  ;D White for storm got 4 even though it was in retaliation to a dog act.
4 for Hall too if they take into account the annoying leech, otherwise 6 or more ...

In the Herald-Sun today it says Staker's parents want Barry Hall rubbed out for the season and are recommending legal action.

just think Conners was a lucky boy ;D  he be sitting at home thinking how lucky he was not to get hit by Bazza that night
Daniel has no fear  ;D

as the Sydney ground was always a accident waiting to happen
The game was at the Olympic stadium TM. You've got to wonder what they were thinking having just a flimsy board in front of steel bars and concrete :help.

OMFG it was at the Stadium well thats even worse, The AFL should realize if your going to speed the game up that safety is most important
Bazza will sue them for millions  :rollin

Confirmed Hall has broken his wrist and is having surgery today. So unless the tribunal gives him a Phil Carmen long holiday he'll be out for 6 weeks anyway.

Official: Hall goes directly to the tribunal
« Reply #21 on: April 14, 2008, 05:22:04 PM »
Match review committee has sent Hall directly to the tribunal as he's got the jackpot - intentional, severe impact, high contact and contact off the ball.

The hearing is most likely tomorrow night.

No surprise there.

As Hall said his not concerned what they give him, he will cop it sweet. but they were some punches
funny how nothing was mentioned about the 2nd hit or the 3rd being the jumper punch.
he could be sited for 3 seperate offences

I was going to respond to that sentiment this afternoon but thought "why bother?", but I've changed my mind.

Your attitude is seriously out of date.

Barry Hall might be a tough player, he might play a man's game, but what he did this weekend wasn't tough. It was weak, cowardly, unprovoked and unexpected. Nothing Staker did could justify Hall's action. He could easily have broken his jaw and/or put his long term health and career at risk. These are elite athletes, not street fighters.

It's not good enough to call it a brain explosion or an out of character act. Hall has done similar things before and he has an issue. We could do without him in the AFL.

In my opinion he should get serious weeks - 12 or more. He could even get the rest of the season - it was a low act that has tarnished the game.

i never said his punch was a tough act, indeed i agree it was weak.

but i love bazza hall as i love most players at the swans. they play with spirit.

agreed though it was a silly thing to do

"Put him in the ring with the ARL lads & he clean them all up   his was offered a million dollars to fight last year"

Couple of differences in that scenario.

They will be looking at him.

They will be defending themselves.

They will be hitting back.

Nothing remotely tough about what he did, but you are correct in one thing - you are entiltled to your opinion.

The tribunal gave him 11 weeks initially but with 25% reduction for a good recent record and the early guilty plea it comes back down to 790 demerit points which is 7 weeks.

Good for us as Hall misses our game but a soft penalty. Laughable the tribunal still including the early plea reduction. He didn't have much of a choice other than to plead guilty so he wasn't doing anyone a favour by doing so. He'll be out that long just with his broken wrist so the tribunal penalty won't affect him at all.
