I'm not getting my hopes up but it can't hurt to dream.

If only we had won those games against the Saints and Dogs.

We should have, and I was just checking out the ladder this morning and we'd have been sitting in 8th spot.

The good signs are that we are making our periods of dominance start to really count on the scoreboard.

We kicked 6 in a row against the Crows, which really should have been more, 8 in 15 minutes against the Demons and a 9 goal and 7 goal quarter against the Power. I haven't seen us score like that for a long time. And the goals are coming from all different types, not just Richo and Browny. We are the 6th highest scoring team in the league and have kicked 16 goals in a game seven times already this season.

We are a real chance to win the next 4, with a big win over Brisbane making the football world stand up and take notice that we're coming.

I am very happy with the sytle of game we are producing. Very entertaining to watch. The least entertaining game I can remember was the Swans game. Their style, though effective, is just damn ugly.

8 in 15 minutes against the Demons

;D 8 goals 6 if I remember correctly. Could have been 14 goals in 20 minutes if we had taken all our chances. Some of those misses were very gettable. ;D

Those bursts remind me of what it was like watching the Tigers of the mid '70's Awesome!  :thumbsup

Morton is probably the most exciting asset to the forwardline as he is good at ground level and on the lead. It has been years since we have had a genuine crumber in the forwardline and Morton (and Jack for that matter) is great at reading the drop of the ball and taking apack mark as well.

I'm very hopeful that the three young forwards - Hughes, Morton & Riewoldt - can continue to work together to create space, block, dummy lead, alternate between marking and crumbing etc to make us far less predictable and dependant upon any one avenue to goal.

The more options we have in the forwardline the better and regardless of who gets the goals we should assess them all as a forward team.

Finals is not out of the question if they continue to play this way.

2 behinds were rushed....  :lol but we could have kicked the ball a bit further and straighter.

That's the plan but we need North to drop games which makes it hard. It also shows that if we had won the Saints and Dogs games the end result would be bumped up to 13 wins = finals guaranteed.

I'd throw Adelaide in as a possible upset, Geelong and Hawthorn would surprise me greatly if we managed to win one of them.

I'd be absolutley staggered if we won all of these. Not because they are good teams but because we seem to lose focus in games and let teams back in. If you are always giving teams a chance then I think 4 in a row is a stretch.

I think we are all very excited about the potential to make the finals for the first time since 2001 but we should be cautious. I'm concerned if we lose this week or over the next 4 weeks we will think we have failed.

We are a long way ahead of where we were last year and on the road to that elusive 'sustained era of success' so regardless of whether we make the finals or not - I will be happy with the clear progress we have made.

So now that I have created a nice saftey blanket if we do fail....come on Tigers!

The finals area real possibility this year! :gotigers

How many times teams vying for the Eight play the bottom sides is going to count for a lot. Look at the Port side this week (7 changes), Eagles dropping Chad Fletcher and Essendon putting Winderlich in for season ending surgery so he's right for the preseason. Clubs out of contention are in tank/2009 mode.
