I've just got my tickets to see Stevie Wonder.
So looking forward to this concert as he's been my favourite artist for soooo long.
I'm hoping I won't be disappointed, but I can't see that happening.

Who are your heroes?

Politically/Historically
FDR/Truman (the former led the US out of their biggest domestic trouble and the latter who with the atom bomb could have done whatever he wanted after WWII but chose peace)

Literature
Steinbeck - the most vividly expressive conveyor of earth's natural beauty and the distastefulness of the human experience in it.

Science
Einstein - the most brilliant mind ever
Feynman - a brilliant scientist and even better communicator

I'd go for Jake's science choices as well.

Late Fred Hollows in terms of medicine and helping those in need.

Child hood hero was Michael Roach and Jimmy Jess.

People today pass in and out of our lives all the time but very few leave a legacy and an imprint like parents. I'm thankful to them for all they have done for me.

Once I look up who invented Cadbury chocolate and Coca-Cola I'll be able to put names to my heroes.

My Mum who passed away last week at the age of 82 was my hero. Had to bring up six kids on her own when my Dad passed away when I was 4 in 1970. Wasn't going to go public with my loss but this thread was the perfect tribute to her. RIP Mum. Praying for you :pray

Similar to tiga in so many ways...

Ma Powell was my absolute hero - she passed away back in 2005 at age 80. Again like tiga she had to raise us on her own after my Dad passed away in 1974 when I was 7 and my bro was 9. By god did she work hard to ensure we had all the things she didn't have growing up. An incredibly lady was my Mum  :clapping And she's still my hero today.
