Sounds plausible seeing they were desperate to get Richo last year!

I find these trade rumours involving the Pies hard to believe because in recent years at this time of year there always seems to be a big out-of-contract name linked to Collingwood. Gehrig, Stevens and our very own Nathan Brown to name a few.

What was the story with the Jophn Pitura deal?
I think i remember him from my footy cards.

I was only a toddler at the time  so someone else will be able to fill in the details but the rough story is back in 1974 we were courting John Pitura who had big wraps on him and at the time was playing for South Melbourne and wanted a clearance to Richmond (midseason I think). Anyway I think the VFL disallowed it or the Swans complained to the VFL. So he sat out the year and eventually got to Tigerland (in 75 I think) in a deal where we cleared Whale Roberts, Graham Teasdale (future brownlow medallist) and Francis Jackson to South Melbourne. Although he played a couple of seasons Pitura ended up a major flop given he never lived up to his reputation.

Trade Chaffey for a pick........any pick in the top 60.  Same with Kellaway, Gaspar, and Fiora.

Agree Harry but after reading Pie forums you'd be surprised that they actually rate Chaffey. Whether the Pie officials do is of course another matter. If we're going to trade him we need to do it this trade period.

TW has had interviews with Ryce Shaw and has offered him a 3 year contract.  Shaw is interested in coming over.  Will need to make a deal with the pies now during the trade week.

Make it Shaw and the Pies 2nd round draft pick for Chaffey and Fiora and ya have a deal

This is surely just another rumour from a Pie forum. Like O'Bree and Ben Johnson for Travis Johnstone. Or the Pies chasing hard after Goddard to force the Saints to pay him so much that they can't afford to keep Luke Ball so Ball goes into the PSD and askes for $500K a year so us, hawks and dogs pass on him on his way to the Pies who get him for nothing .

Received strong confirmation the other day that Wallace rates Shaw and has had a couple of meetings with him and that he has been offered a contract with us for 3 years.  He still has one more year at the pies and as such we need to make a trade deal.  Anyway alot of water to has to pass under the bridge and as I said we will be looking to make the pies an offer.  I just hope we don't give ANY draft picks away.  I can live with giving away a dud like Chaffey but no draft picks please.
