Ablett signed with GC
Liam Pickering pretending not to know today.

The thing about all these GC signings is that all the names mentioned months ago have signed up so it'll be no surprise now if/when Ablett and Harbrow head north.

Rumour around is that GC paid for the Ablett trip to NY pre season.

He would've made more money as a punter for the Giants or Jets :D

Well there you go, it obviously didn't affect his performance last night but I wonder if it affected his team mates.

I don't mind seeing the start of the Geelong decline I just don't want the Pies to step into the vacant position as the dominant side.

Surely Ablett is going otherwise wouldnt we hear more rumours of other big name players oing to the GC.
They will want an AA player up there for sure.

The AFL will want Ablett up there as a high profile marque player alongside Karmichael Hunt to sell the club to the locals. The AFL usually gets want it wants.

Add Ablett with 9 of the first 15 picks in the draft and that's 15 right there who'll still be around together after 3-4 years development time when these kids start hitting their peak. That's also ignoring the twelve 17 year olds they picked up last year. I don't think they'll play finals right away as some people think but if Scott Clayton picks the right kids they should become a regular finals side within 5 years. The AFL will make sure it happens too so the locals hop on the bandwagon.
