ADAM COCKIE - Subiaco
DOB: 19yo Ht: 180cm Wt: 84kg
"Adam won the Jack Clarke Medal for best and fairest in the Colts last year and this year played just about every game in the senior side and also played state footy for WA. Pound for pound he is the hardest footballer playing in the WAFL at the moment. Just a tough, tough midfielder who is a tackling machine. Perhaps lacks a yard of pace but has great lateral movement and a great push-off. Just physically strong and I know Richmond and Essendon are keen:" Subiaco Colts coach Tim Gossage

Maybe we're interested in him as a rookie?

I think that it has been proven that the majority of WAFL Colts are not fit enough to come straight into AFL footy in today's modern game. The TAC Cup kids are so far ahead of them and the South Australians that it is not funny. Its a credit to Victorian footy that the TAC Cup is so relevant to providing AFL standard players straight up.

After a couple of seasons of adult WAFL or SANFL they are more likely to be able to cope, both with their bodies and mentally, but as 17 or 18 year olds, they are showing that they have no hope.

So in the case of this Cockie bloke....let him prove himself at WAFL senior level first before considering him above a TAC Cup kid who has been trained to AFL standards and has developed his body and mind to be able to quickly cope with playing at AFL level.
