This is were I have issues with our club taking recycled types ... Instead of taking Cockshell, if someone like Luke Thompson is available...why not take that kid. Recycleds have got us nowhere fast for 25 years...Its time to stop that particular policy. Take bottom age kids at 58 and 70. I will be bitterly disappointed if we waste a pick on a recycled player.
I agree Ramps. Short term pain for long term gain when you are rebuilding and developing a young list. If you finish lower on the ladder then so be it if it means you'll be genuine contenders in 3-4 years time. In fact the draft system rewards you more for finishing lower

That's why I take issue with us promising finals next year. Sure if we have another good run with injuries with all our senior players player 18+ games then there's no excuse for anyone at Punt Rd next year. But what happens if Simmo goes down? So the footy dept. goes hey we need a cheap ready-made back-up ruckman and a kid like Thompson isn't considered. This is what we did with the rookie list this year and suddenly our rookie evelations have dried up. No more Foleys, Thurstys or Moores coming through
