I'll bite...

Apart from Sheeds who has pulled out of this coaching circus ;D

Wayne Campbell
Nathan Buckley
Kevin Sheedy.
David King.
John Longmuire
and there was one other who said he wasnt interested either.

Is that your arguement for saying the process is flawed ?
I'll be totally honest and say I don't want Laidley but the way the process is flawed is Laidley has not gone through the first stage of our process. He was holidaying overseas, if he was really that interested in coaching us maybe he would have thought twice about his vacation dates. Richmond had the chance to make a stand and show they were serious about showing they were going to be strong and stick to the process of picking a coach, now they are saying Laidley can come straight in at the end. F@#KING TIPICAL!!!

I don't think it's unreasonable for Laidley to skip the first stage of the process, just like Rawlings, we have a decent idea already of what they will be like as a senior AFL coach. I certainly hope he's only skipped to the 2nd stage though, if he is fasttracked directly to the final stage in front of the board I'll be pretty peeed off.

Laidley starts to check options
Brent Diamond | August 9, 2009

FORMER North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley plans to speak with Richmond this week to determine whether it wants an untried or experienced coach for its senior position.

Laidley, who is fielding several offers from AFL clubs for assistant or director of coaching roles, has been guaranteed a spot in the Tigers' final round of interviews. He was yesterday adamant that he was ready to coach an AFL club next season after quitting the Kangaroos.

“I've put a hell of a lot of thought into that and I want to coach again, but whether that's at senior level or a different role to what I've spoken to a couple of clubs about. We'll probably take it from there,” Laidley said on SEN radio yesterday.

“With Richmond, do they want to go with an untried coach, do they want to go with a coach that has got some experience? I would have thought that would be more the conversation that we'll have perhaps with the Tiges next week.

“I've got a passion to coach whether that's at senior level or director of coaching, I'm open to that.”

Laidley said he would meet with Tigers general manager of football Craig Cameron this week.

Laidley, who has been overseas on holidays for the past three weeks, also said he was interested in a development role with the AFL's 18th team, west Sydney.

“I've only been back for 48 to 72 hours, but on my list on Monday is to see Andrew [Demetriou] and Adrian [Anderson] and Dave Matthews and see the lie of the land and see what's going to happen up there,” Laidley said.

“Going back to start off at West Coast . . . I know how hard it is to start . . . a football club from a clean slate. My experiences are in the area and I know how difficult it is.”

I'm in the minority, but i'd like Laidley.

He ain't good with the media, but we've tried that and it failed.

I want a hard nosed coach, this guy is hard nosed and I wouldn't be disappointed if he was selected.
And you may not think I care for you

Former North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley will step up his bid to coach Richmond next year when he makes a full presentation to the club later this week.

Laidley had been expected to hold preliminary discussions with the Tigers on Monday but the club has fast-tracked plans and wants him to be interviewed by the coaching sub-committee.

Former North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley will decide by the weekend whether to formally apply for the vacant Richmond coaching position.

Richmond has begun the second stage of its interview process after narrowing its field of prospective coaches to four -- Damien Hardwick, Ken Hinkley, Jade Rawlings and Alan Richardson.

But should Laidley apply, he will have to undergo a full first-stage presentation to the Richmond sub-committee coaching panel.
