GWS Giants have been dealt a massive blow, with number one draft pick Jonathan Patton set to miss the start of the AFL season with knee tendonitis.

Not a big deal in the long-term as GWS will struggle to win a game next year so they might as well sort any injury problems with their first round picks out now. In the short-term though it will further stuff up putting any semblance of a spine on the park as GWS don't have that many KPPs as it is.

I agree MT. They went midfielder crazy rather than picking more KPP's. Pressure's on Folau now. Well it looks like I'll hopefully be enjoying a Tiger victory in round 12 from "The Good Seats" at Skoda.

John Patton has done a knee, and will be flying to Sweden for surgery.

You would have gotten one had you not sent Lids down the toilet. Now you will have to rely on gerks for a seat but he went for the poverty pack so if he actually invites you, expect to either get wet if it rains or have the sun in your eyes if its sunny.

Bryce Gibbs and Matthew Kreuzer in Greater Western Sydney's sights

CARLTON is confident budding stars Bryce Gibbs and Matthew Kreuzer will reject potential million-dollar offers and re-sign with the Blues.

Kreuzer and Gibbs will be out of contract at season's end and join Essendon's Michael Hurley, St Kilda's Brendon Goddard, Richmond's Brett Deledio and Collingwood's Scott Pendlebury as targets for GWS. Industry speculation has Hurley top of the pops.

Yep they should get flogged in round 1 with that side and because they haven't played together in a real AFL match. Anything under 8-10 goals would actually be a semi-respectable loss.

Their only chance of winning any game this year is having their full list to choose from (major question marks on those over 30 playing anywhere close to 22 games) and catching another bottom side mid-year whose season is shot and is way down on any confidence.   

They are going to need to chase current 21-25 y.o. opposition players big time at the end of the season as there is a massive age bracket gap with so many teens and so many 30+ y.o.
