Reading between the lines - Hardwick told them to wait until the Richmond appointment was passed as that was his first preference but rather than get egg on their face once again they chose Scott who was not in contention at Tigerland. The excuse why they 'chose' Scott is smoke and mirrors in an attempt to talk up their decision.

Sad to be North

What was that they said about Hardwick?

That's 3 rejections for Hardwick now.   ???

Pulled out or wasnt interested there job as his preference. right from the start Hardwick told them Richmond was his preferred club to coach. Scott went through our process and didnt get past the first round.

March said Scott was a sensational candidate who just missed out on getting through to the second round.

That said if Hardwick doesn't get our job I think he will find it hard to shake the career assisstant tag that e.g. Gary O'Donnell seems to have.

If I was Chris Scott I'd be thinking about a few pranks I could play here.

It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

It is my opinion that Hardwick will be our coach for the next three years.

Collingwood have given Brad Scott the flick straight away. They've released him from his assistant coach contract.

It's possible that Brad Scott has seriously peeed someone off there at the pies. You would of thought that Scott would have cleared it with the pies before the announcement.

You can read nothing into that.  If Hardwick had got it then Hawthorn would have done the same.  Too much IP nowadays to keep someone on that you know will be in opposition within a few weeks - planning for 2010 draft strategies, game plans, trades/delistings etc will all be well down the path in each club and they will protect their IP much more vigorously than honouring the final weeks of an employee contract.
