Actually they were advertising it this afternoon - said Hardwick will be in the studio  :thumbsup

Hardwick says being 'invisible' was part of the plan. Wants to spend time with the players. Not rob them of development.

It's a transformation period, facilities, players, off-field. Gale was a coup, lots of new coaches. A well planned future.

No short cuts, we've already taken a step backwards to go forwards by cutting so many players, members will look forward to seeing young faces.

Lost a lot of experience, great servants, improvement needs to come from Polo, Connors. Extemely talented players, they hope to extract the best from them. Hislop and other 2-3 year players need to step up.

Game plan may take 1 month, 6 months, 12 months. At training it looks great, but will it stand up under opposition pressure. Fans be patient, we'll get there.

Taken the best parts from Hawks, Power, Bombers and rolled them into one game plan.

Young blokes will play and it's exciting for the fans.

Newman is outstanding, Deledio and Tambling. We have some great talent.

Thought Tigers were inconsistent when he coached against us. Offensive we were ok, defence not real flash.

Martin very solid, exceptional unit. Very excited. Griffiths seems to grow a bit every day. We'll debut a number of players this season.

Dropping membership was probably right. Disappointing season.

Cousins going very well, he hasn't lost a thing at all despite his age. Since Christmas has stepped up his leadership.

Polak had a very good pre-season. Didn't know where he'd be at after the accident. Mature-age rookie rule helped him.

-------------------missed this bit--------------------

Jack is a key forward. Want to get height in the forward line. Polak, Griffiths, Astbury.

Great summary wayne  :cheers

* Probably in a way planned to be less visible. Development more important. 14 new players. Taking me away from the players is a distraction at this time.

* Transformation period for club. New facilities. 14 new players. Off-field changes as well with Gale back/. new coaches. For us going forward it is going to be about following a plan. It's a long-term view. A step back to go forward. Only a couple of other clubs have cut back as hard as we've had.

* Richo, Bowden and these guys were great servants of the club. We need guys in their 4th-5th years to step up. Connors, Polo. They're the ones that need to imoprove for us to go forward. There'll be a measure of our improvement. Hislop as well.

* KB mentioned Saints players took 12 months under Lyon to get use to the new gameplan. Hardwick said it is a tough one - may take 1 month, 6 months, 12 months. It looks good at this point at training but it will all be tested when opposition pressure. We need to keep putting and testing players in pressure situations at training and have them learn from their mistakes.

* Taken all the best parts of Williams, Sheeds and Clarkson and put them into one gameplan. he's learnt a lot from all his coaches.

* Excitment for Richond fans is seeing the young guys play their first game and development from word go. Newman is an excelllent captain and Lids and Tambo have been fantastic. it'll be the kids that are excitiing and will take the club forward.

* From afar he thought we were always inconsistent. Now inside wants to  stabilize things. Always been offensively but defensively not. We've ben working on the defensive aspects.

* Martin is an exceptional unit. Grifftiths is growing everyday- bigger and stronger. Taylor, Astbury. Youngest list going forward. We'll be young but exciting.

* Probably we did expect a fall in membership. Tracking the same as 2 years ago.

* Cuz hasn't lost anything at all. Exceptional he was yesterday, He has taken a step forward in leadership since Christmas. Before Chrissy it was more about getting his body right.

* Polly has been exceptional. We didn't know where he'll be when he first started. Thankful the AFL canged the rookie rules. From where he came from it's a big step forward. He's getting better and feeling better each day. He'll be a big key forward for us.

* Foley has an ankle irritation. We didn't want this irration to flair up his achilles which are fine. So he'll be off for 10 days to remove the irritation.

* Cotch is a measured process. Fully trains Monday and Friday. Take our time with him given how important he is to our future.

* Fair point about turnovers. If you look at the stats it's more about decisioon making. It's about making better deicsions. So kicking is a high priority. everyone we drafted this year is a good kick.

* KB mentioned that players improve when they are put under pressure at training so they get use to it. Hardwick said his brief to Craig Cameron is training will be game-based. You may lose a soldier but we need to put our guys under game conditions. We do that every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

* Tuck is tracking along well. He needs to work on defensive issues but a lot of our guys need to do that as well.

* Jack has a key forward physique, Morton more up the field. With Polly going so well, Astbury and Taylor also to be used up forward.

* Taylor - enormous future. we all make mistakes and Taylor understands that and that there are consequences.

Emails:

Post and Vickery as forwards.
Haven't earmarked either for the role. Post groomed as a backman. Reads the ball well. Vickery is a ruckman first and foremost.

McMahons role.
Across the wing and midfield. Good kick inside 50. Hard to say who is in the best 22 at this stage.

Richo
Didn't expect the retirement, but got wind something wasn't right. Brown and Bowden going was the right decision.

GC17 and GWS
Outstanding job by the three recruiters, have to earn their money in the next few years to find talent. Revamped our staff, full-time weights coach for the first time ever.

What were we looking for in the draft
#3 best available. Only missed out on one of our targetted players in the draft.

Indigenous players
Alroy come on in leaps and bounds, larrikan now, Relton has a little way to go, Troy Taylor used to go and watch him for the NT Thunder.
And you may not think I care for you

Responses to emails.....

* Post and Vickery won't be forwards at this stage. Post will pinch hit up forward but at this stage we'll have him down back as he is a good kick and reads the play well. We see Vickery as a ruck first and foremost.

* Our key forwards will be Polly, Astbury, Griffiths, Riewoldt at this stage.

* Jordie - wing/midfield. We feel he is a good kick inside 50 for us. Hard to tell at this stage who our best 22 is. Sorted out more next Friday at the intra-club.

* Sad about Richo. He would have loved to have coached him.

* If we had known about Richo would we have kept a Bowden or Cogs? No we had to move forward.

* New two teams will make thigns tougher but the club in their wisdom added 3 new recruiters last year. They need to earn their keep and we've back them in to find the players we need.

* TPP back to 92.5% and money put into off-field footy department - new coaches, develoment coaches - 6 full-time staff. Development is key for us so we needed to get this up and running from word go.

* Sat down at match commitee we went through what we needs. Best available at first 3 picks then went for need. We got everyone we were after bar one.

* Gilligan - HF/HB. Come on leaps on bounds. 12 months ago hardly spoke but now won't shut up at team meetings.

* Roberts - got a way to go but is an exciting player.

* If we can get all our members to jump on board it'll be great - 1300 Richmond

Well done one-eyed and wayne! Terrific posts  :cheers :thumbsup

I'm impressed by Hardwick. Not media savvy at all but knows his footy and is uncompromising in his plan and belief. I think we will have a hard year win-loss wise but to see players such as Martin, Griffiths, Astbury, Post, Vickery, Cotchin and company play consistent fottball together and give us an insight into the future will be exciting.
