Selection 25- Brisbane select LUKE PARKER from Dandenong Stingrays 182cm and 83kgs

Strong bodied, good endurance, can play in midfield but also up forward a terrific kick and smart decision maker, tough and hard at the contest, after taking Heppell we are happy to take a 2nd midfield player and set up the Lions midfield for the next few years.

So are we doing compensation picks or..... and does WCE priority pick come before or after the comp picks?

I think North are the only team at present who has indicated that they will use their compensation pick.

Priority Pick
26. West Coast

Luke Mitchell - Calder Cannons / 197cm / 87kg

Strong contested marking Full Forward/CHF who missed quite a lot of footy this year through a shoulder injury but was very impressive throughout the TAC finals and in the grand final more specifically. Mitchell is not afraid to throw his weight around and is very confident in his movement around the ground with exceptional foot skills and ability below his knees. I think Mitchell plays his best footy closer to goal which would suit the Eagles set up currently with Kennedy playing high in the forward line.

Could go higher this this come draft day but I think this is a good spot for him and I'm happy to grab him here.

Good player, I would have taken him the pick before but has had a shoulder reconstruction and thats why I took parker instead. Nevertheless a good pick.

Will we be doing the compo picks or moving on to the next round where I have the next pick I believe?

We are wating on confirmation of which clubs will be using their compo picks Ramps

This is due today. We are following the same order as the "real draft" so we need to know the status of the compo picks

At this stage only North are using theirs but that may change

With pic 27, north Melbourne would like to select

Isaac Smith, North Ballarat 79kg 190cm

After only six VFL games, Isaac Played in a VFL Premiership and had an exceptional finals series. at 21 he has the mature body and plenty of pace to make an immediate impact for us and is versatile enough to play forward or back.

Pick 28: Brisbane selects JAMIE CRIPPS from East Fremantle 182cm and 78kgs. Read to play in 2011. Will add to Brisbanes pace off half back. Good pace with Good skills rebounding of half back is how I see him playing in future!

Pick 29. West Coast

George Horlin-Smith – Sturt / 186cm / 70kg

After selecting Polec and a very good KPF in Mithcell I think I can go out on a limb and pick this smokey who I've never seen play live before but have only read opinions and seen the highlights footage and I like what I see, Also for some reason WCE managed to trade themselves of of the 3rd round? I'm not sure how they managed that.

GHS is most likely to be one of the youngest people to be drafted in 2010 being extremely bottom age and younger than about 90% of the other kids eligible. George is a very talent cricketer and as such has never taken part in an AFL preseason so their is plenty of upside here to be had.

GHS is a dual sided medium midfielder who makes very good decisions and creates by hand and foot with great vision to spot up the write option. He is not strong athletically which has been mentioned after viewing his combine results but he always seems to be one step ahead of the play. He's quite strong over head for a mid and a goal kicker too. I expect the Lions to pick up GHS before Richmonds 2nd pick because I think this type of player has Francis jackson written all over him. One to watch come draft day for sure.

Richmond
Players considered:
Was going to pick Dion Prestia, or Mitchell Hallahan. I'm also keen on Patrick Karnezis, I'm hoping he slips adding depth to our mid sized forwards after Troy Taylor's absence and possible retirement.

In the end we went with our direction of stocking up on midfielders that can play outside.

Pick 30: Josh Green (TAS)
http://mm.afl.com.au/Portals/0/green_josh.jpg

Green is a midfielder who can play inside or outside with great pace, stoppage work and goal sense with the makings of a quality midfielder.

Listed at 181cm and 78kgs is a little bit short for my liking but has slipped at 30.

Had a good start to the Under 18 Championships against Queensland with 35 touches and two goals, including one great set-shot along the boundary when the pressure was on.

Essendon: Pick 31:

Matthew Watson - Calder Cannons
DOB 16/7/92
Ht: 195cm
Wt: 98Kg

A tall defender who can also play forward (kicked 5 goals in a final from the HFF). Can kick the ball 60 metres with alot of accuracy. Reads the play well and knows how and when to zone off. With his size many believe he is ready to play senior AFL in 2011
